"So basically, for a good portion of my life, you've been stalking me." Wylde grimaced at the word, but nodded.
Melanie felt almost sick at the thought--never knowing there was a man wearing different disguises and watching her from a distance. She couldn't help feeling disturbed at the thought, despite him saying he had good intentions.
"I know, I know." Wylde said. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "You don't understand though, I just cared so much after a while because of the interactions we shared. They were short, simple but told me so much about you. At some points I felt like a total creep, but Adam forced me to. It was a way of keeping tabs on you."
Melanie watched him for a long moment, unaware of what to do or say, so she just sat there and stared.
"So let me get this straight," John broke in, finally speaking after a long moment of silence. "You intentionally took the wrong sister in hopes no one would notice that she was just a mundane human?"
"Yes." Wylde said. He laughed at the thought, as if realizing how idiotic the plan was. "Dean and I could be standing next to the most powerful demon in the world right now, but I didn't want to send her to her death."
"Then why did you want to do it two weeks ago?" Melanie asked, her eyebrow shooting toward the ceiling.
"Because being around you was harder." He admitted. "I was a stranger to you, but you weren't to me. I felt like I knew you, and I just didn't want to deal with..." He stopped and laughed abruptly. "I feel like this is a conversation we need to have in private. I don't feel comfortable 'sharing my feelings' in front of an audience."
Wylde stood up and walked to the table where the shining bottles of alcohol sat and he grabbed his favorite, Vodka. He untwisted the cap and tipped the bottle back against his lips, then he took a swig from a bottle. "Nothin' personal." He added to John and Dean while wiping his mouth with the sleeve of his shirt and walking back over with the bottle in his hand. "Now that I got all that out, let's get back to the situation at hand." He then looked at Melanie and added a side note only for her. "We'll talk about this later." He took another swig of the bottle and capped it.
She thought it would be best to forget everything he had said because she feared this conversation; she knew where it was going. With him kissing her earlier, and the mixed signals he's been throwing her, it was undeniable. He had feelings for her. She hated that thought because in all honesty, she didn't know how she felt about him.
"So, Adam came for her, and you guys shot him down." John said, fixing his dark coat on his shoulders. Before Melanie could ask how he knew, he locked eyes on her and said; "Dean calls me and tells me everything, we're pretty close."
"Wait." Melanie eyed John carefully and took in his features. He looked normal, human--what was he doing here? "What are you?"
"I'm a vampire, like Wylde there." He answered.
Goes to show they do walk amongst humans, totally undetected.
"He did come," Dean continued on. "but we didn't hand Melanie over--obviously." He added, motioning to Melanie. "Now he's out for us, ready to fight; problem is, we don't know when he's going to attack."
John nodded slowly, taking the information in. "And he has Elizar at his side."
"Who's Elizar?" Melanie asked, looking at John.
"The demon that we've been talking about. 'him'." Wylde said from next to her. "We don't know who else, though." He said back to John. "He could have a whole army-"
"Then why don't we get a whole army?" John asked, looking at Wylde. He was completely serious, but all Melanie could do was laugh. Once John shot her an irritated look, she cut her laughter short, and sat back, trying to melt into the leather couch.
