Jak entered the room labeled cell-023 inside was a chair sitting in front of multiple monitors showing the image from the main surveillance room at different angles there was also another door in the room obviously reinforced "probably the room that guy is in could be dangerous to go in and ask questions" Jak said. He then began searching around for any method to talk to him from the safety of the monitor room, he eventually found a microphone disconnected from the monitors tower, after plugging the mic in different slots and talking the man in the cell eventually reacted to Jaks words "who are you, why are you restrained" Jak said "that's what i should be asking you, minus the restrained part of course he he" the man said lifting his head looking at a camera "you the retrieval team? sent here to take any subjects who survived" the man said "no i have nothing to do with this Hercules Agenda stuff i'm just someone searching through some ruble" Jak said into the mic "oh then an ally? let me out of here press the button labeled release it should be atop the monitors" the man said "what reason do i have to trust you and how do you know where the release button would be" Jak said "you have no reason to trust me and i know a lot of things i know what will happen when you release me but you don't so look at your decisions you can release me and take a chance at what will happen or you can leave me to the squad when they get here your choice not like i can do much" the man said.
Jak stepped away from the mic and thought about this situation "even if i release him i have a weapon so if he tries anything ill have the advantage" Jak muttered to himself. Jak checked to make sure the gun was loaded and safety turned off and pressed the release button the man then dropped to the ground and slowly stood up "now do you think you can deal with this damn door" he said "alright ill open the door but don't try anything i am armed" Jak said into the mic "didn't plan it" said the man. The reinforced door slid open revealing the man beaten up, tired, probably thirsty as hell "thanks" said the man as he began walking out "woah keep your distance" Jak said readying the gun "relax i ain't gonna hurt ya, you know where the storage room is?" the man said walking past Jak out of the monitor room "no, and who are you why did they have you chained up" Jak said keeping his eye on the man "damn you young-uns are useless" the man said ignoring the question "i said who are you" Jak said but the man did not respond.
The man eventually found the storage room and began rummaging through the boxes "your looking for a weapon arnt ya?" Jak said "no no i'm looking for my belongings" the man said tossing out random items "you'd think when they made their big escape they would bother looking for their stuff" the man said as he eventually took out a white horned mask. The man put the mask on and stood up "you asked who i was my name is not important but if you really need to know i believe this place called me Phoenix" he said "the data logs said you were unresponsive i assumed that meant you were mute" Jak said "oh so you read them eh? naughty, boys ought to stay in their own business" Phoenix said "i'm not a boy i'm 20 damnit" Jak said "compared to me you're a damn baby" Phoenix said walking out the storage room "wait Phoenix was the one who always regenerated so" Jak said until Phoenix interrupted "so your gun there is useless" he said in a cocky voice. "so where did you get in here a entrance usually works as a exit" Phoenix said.
