Harnessing energy

The next morning was crazy. It was still dark out at 7 when you woke up. So you bumped and clashed your way to the den.

You only stubbed your toes like twelve times, but that'll be fine.

You reach the den and find the light switch. To your surprise the lights still work.

Soon after arranging some furniture and finding out most items in the cabin work,  you hear a knock at the door. Which by the way wasn't creepy at all since you passed zero houses on this road.

You pick up one of the stainless steel forks on the counter, that you were going arrange,  and go to the door.

You open it quickly and point the fork at the person who knocked.

"Whoa miss calm down." she lowered my hand. "I'm just making sure you aren't some teens who try to break into this cabin. Trust me they try."

"No. I technically own this not-to-shabby shack." You toss the fork onto the counter.

"Wait." she runs to her car and grabs a letter. "Are you (y/n)?  Because then I've a story for you."

"Would you like to come in then?" You hold open the door as she shuffled in.

She sat down and took off her hat. Her long dirty blonde hair shimmied past her shoulders.

She put out a hand and introduced herself. "I'm Austin, a boy's name I know but oh well."

You shook it and smiled. "So what's this story I need to hear?"

She sighed. "Well my father knew yours, he even helped build this place. But when he caught wind of your dad dying, he said he'd protect this place until you came. He didn't get to see it though. He died of lung cancer about two years ago.."

"I am so sorry. I didn't know this place existed until a little while ago."

"I'm sure he sees. He was very religious. But I've been chasing pesky teens away for about four years. When I saw a car drive up last night, I had to check."

Loki walked in yawning. "Who are you?"

"Austin. I ran this place for a little while. For her dad." She smiled.

He sat down next to you. "I'm Loki Laufeyson. It's a pleasure." he smiled and shook her hand.

She finished her story with a nice closer about how she's happy I'm here.

"Thanks. I feel a bit better about almost stabbing you."

She laughed. "It's alright."

She smiled and then left and said to call, her numbers already in the house phone.

(☆▽☆) a few hours later (☆▽☆)

You finally arrange it the way you like it.

You relax on the sofa and smile. Loki walks in dressed as if he's going out.

"Going somewhere?" you laugh.

"The snow."

"Without me?"

"Well you better hurry up, I'm not going to wait much longer."

You get dressed as quickly as you can and run out the door.

Loki was waiting and pelted you with a snow ball. It didn't hurt much, but it ignited a small spark that yelled war.

You pack an ice ball and launch it at him. It hit him. Yet didn't affect him at all.

"Frost giant, remember?" he turned blue.

He threw another and got went up in flames.

"Fire Queen, remember?"

"That's cheating." he smiled.

"Not if you do it first." he walks closer dropping his snowball.

"But I think it's completely fair if I'm made of the element."

"No no no. It works if you are the opposite of the element." you walk closer.

He grabbed your hand and what happened next was kind of a blur.

You both went to touch hands,  and you both flew in opposite directions.

He flew directly backwards and went into the snow smoking.

You flew upwards and landed in a humongous tree. Also smoking.

He recovered and looked up at you.

"Are your alright love?" he yelled, cupping his mouth.

"Is it normal to see three trees, when I know there's only one?"

"Probably."

You fell out of the tree, landing in a pile of snow. It was a little softer than dirt, but not by much.

He helped you up. "Are you okay?"

You giggled. "Peachy. But when we get home they need to see this."

He smiled. "Agreed."

He helped you inside while you regained your correct vision.

You went to the bathroom after changing, putting your hair into (preferred hairstyle) and went back to the living room.

Loki made hot cocoa. You could smell it. It smelled like home.

But you weren't quite sure where home was anymore. You felt good anywhere with him.

As you entered he held up a mug.

"Thanks. I think I need this."

"Think? I know. And I'm not royalty and all, but it's a need." he smiled while taking a sip.

"Prince, King, it doesn't matter. If you were a king I'd love you the same." you take a sip, melting into the couch.

Once you both finished he took the mugs in and held you in his arms.

"I miss this. We don't get to do this very much anymore."

You sigh. "I know. It- I feel sad even I think about it." Loki leaned over your head. "What?"

"Yes it seems so." he smiled. "But your eyes needn't be blue, let's make them that beautiful (your eye color)
once more. Shall we?"

You nod and smile as he kisses you upside down.

You sit up and wrap your arms around him. "I really do love you. You are my life. I wouldn't redo a single thing that has happened since we met." you look up, meeting his gaze. His sharp,  green, eyes lock with yours.

He smiles. "I'm glad. My life was a downhill spiral until I met you. And I wouldn't have met you if it wasn't for my stupidity. A blessing and a curse."

You chuckle and bury your face into his neck, trying to hide your tears. You've never felt like this before. It was completely different than what you thought love would be like.

He grabbed your chin, "Don't cry love. What's the point of crying if you're happy?" he smiled and kissed you gently. Feeling his soft lips against yours. His cold hand against your face.

You hold his cheek in your hand. Breaking the kiss you said, "I'm exhausted."

He smiled. "At least we're both certain about that."

He took your hand and led you upstairs. He opened the master bedrooms door and changed his shirt into a grey t-shirt. He lay next to you and you both fell asleep.

You haven't slept this peacefully since you were little.
