You stood there shocked. Your dead parents were standing in your doorway.

You ran at both of them, engulfing them in hugs.

"(Y/N), we've missed you." your mother whispered into your ear. Daneel, here name was Daneel. That was knowledge you thought you'd never need.

"It's been awhile hasn't it?" Your father picked you up off your feet. "I never got the chance, but hello." he set you down. "I'm Andrew Rose. I'm your dad."

"I'm (Y/N), it's a pleasure."

Everyone was either crying or shrieking out of happiness.

"So from what I've heard my little girls getting married!"

"Married?!" Steve bellowed. "When were you gonna tell us?!"

"In a few minutes actually."

Andrew held up your hand, showcasing a ring.

Frigga clapped like a seal. "I did something wonderful yes?"

Loki joined her by her side. "You did mother."

"This is him?" Andrew said. (I'm just gonna use first names) "He seems like a schmuck."

"Andrew!" Daneel exclaimed.

"I'm kidding guys," he walked over to him and offered his hand. "My daughter does know how to use a gun, just saying kid."

Loki smiled. "I'm well aware sir."

"I've shot him off a building actually." You chip in, remembering the tessaract times.

"Feisty." Andrew chuckled.

"You don't even know dude." Tony said.

"Who's that?" Andrew whispered into your ear.

"A good friend, Tony."

"Nice to meet you too?"

You felt he was being a bit overwhelmed so you sat him down and started your own conversation.

"It's astonishing to see how alike we look. How much you remind me of your mother. Everything." Andrew took your hand. "You look just like your mother. But you have my eyes, thank god."

You smile. This sensation burning you alive was something you've never felt.

Parental love. You'd never truly had that.

Your mother sat down and joined you. "You've grown to be a very beautiful women (Y/N), I just hope you haven't abused that beauty."

You shrug. "Possibly a few times."

She smirked. "Have you been well?"

She was very proper. Unlike you and your father.

"I've carried on I guess. There wasn't much else I could do."

She rubbed your knee as everyone else was talking.

Bucky walked over and introduced himself as Daneel hugged him, Steve joined and they walked away together.

Andrew laughed. "She's always been passionate about those boys."

You nod. "The favor was most definitely returned."

He raised an eyebrow. "When I was in a foster home, they took me in and raised me. I owe everything to them."

He kissed your temple. "Then so do I. If I actually had one."

You chuckled.

When Bruce approached you introduced him to your dad and they started a conversation about smarts and intellect.

Loki walked over to you with Frigga in tow.

"The wedding will be beautiful." she smiled. "Like my beautiful daughter in law."

You weren't aware they use the same terms as humans. But eh.

"I'm sure it will be. I'm excited." Loki kissed his mother's hand and wrapped his hand around your waist.

Making sure everyone had eaten enough, you start cleaning up the kitchen, and staring all the food.

No one wants to spend their days in a stinky cabin with rotting food siitting out everywhere. So you were gonna fix that.

The door rang and as you answer it, Austin walked in, a bit surprised at the amount of people there.

Abbie walked over and introduced herself. Thor followed her around like a little puppy. It was the cutest thing.

Austin went wide eyed as she noticed Andrew.

"That's your dad! I've seen the pictures! He's dead!"

"There is a lot you don't know about. But all of that is correct."

You introduced her to him, and at the mention of her father, he started telling war stories. Soon Bucky and Steve joined him.

It was like sitting around a campfire. Except it wasn't. It was sitting around a coffee table.

You listen intently, wanting to know your father's story. No one knew it, so no one could pass it to you.

You gathered so much knowledge through his words, how he met mom, how he became a soldier. Everything.

No matter what, when you heard someone telling a story, you always chose to listen.

You can easily learn things that way, and growing up, that was all your foster homes had to offer. Stories.

Fake ones, real ones. Your life was constantly bouncing between the two. Fictional and fake. Non fiction and real.

Superheroes used to be fake, but then those stories started coming true.

Like your father's. He used to make up stories for the new recruits, but then the stories he told, were the ones he was.

Your father, your mother, you.

They were all stories. True stories.

One ended in heartbreak. One ended in spilled blood.

How would yours end?

As your father ended his life story he added a line, that was meant to keep you thinking. "Now that's a true story, mine ended in shared wounds and blood, not all stories have happy endings okay?"
