My Paradise

Chapter 2

Skylar's POV
After a few long hours we finally made it to Los Angeles. It was so beautiful here. It was night time so everything was lit up like a giant Christmas tree. My dad dropped me. I told him could stay and drive back in the morning but he politely declined. I got settled and called my mom. I could tell she had be crying. She tried to play it off but I knew her better that that. She wanted to talk for hours but I had an important meeting in the morning so I had to let her go. She'll forgive me right? I thought to myself before I was brought out of it by a phone call. It was my dad's friend, Zane. Zane is the one who got me this audition. I consider him to be my uncle since him and my dad we practically brothers. They had know each other since they were 3.
"Hey Zane. What's up?"
"I hope you've been studying for this audition. This production is not one of those low budgets you see that go straight to DVD" he said kind of sternly.
"Don't worry Z. I have been studying so hard. I've practically sewn the script to my hand!" I say joking a little.
Zane wasn't having it. I could tell he really wanted me to get this a role.
"This is serious Sky. A lot of big-time actresses are also up for this role. You have to wow these people" he said
"Yes sir."
"So tomorrow you have the audition. If they call you and say the regular crap about being selected you have a chemistry read with one of the male leads on Thursday"
I wrote all of things he said down. Better to have on paper than just in my head. I go to bed early trying to get some rest before tomorrow: I could not wait.
The next morning I got up and showered. I tried to pick out something that the character would wear. I wanted the judges to see how serious I was about this role. I went downstairs, grabbed and apple, and head to my audition. I was ecstatic. I was going to fulfill my dreams. If my sister Luna could see me. Luna was my big sister. She died in a bombing about 3 years ago. She was the one who made me want to be an actress. She never got to see me make that happen. I miss her a lot. The thought of her made me want the role even more. I finally arrived at the audition site. Zane said there would be a lot of people but there wasn't. I guess they backed out. I called Z before I went in. He wished me good luck. I walked in with my head held high. I knew I was ready.
