Two Gems, One Ruby

Lapis water-punched me out of the way as I was in the middle of my thoughts. That was great except the fact that I was wet and I landed inside of a wall. I didn't get why Lapis would save me, though, I was on Homeworld's side. Maybe she was aiming to push Sapphire out of the way? As I was getting spewed out of harm's way, Sapphire grabbed onto my arm as Aqua tried to poof her. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that Sapphire must've planned this all along with the other rebels... but why save me? That's the question I just couldn't understand. I had to know. Me, the traitor, of all people. Was it Sapphire's plan? Even if it were her I still wouldn't understand. Does she think I've been brainwashed?

I rubbed my head as I got up off the floor, soaking wet. I shook it off like I was a dog. I looked around the room. Everyone was staring at Lapis but Sapphire.
"Lapis? Why'd you do that?! We could've beaten her!" Peridot shouted. It was funny how she had to look down to see peridot, though. Lapis didn't say anything. She just glanced at Sapphire and then looked back like saving my bacon was nothing.
"Ruby-boo! Are you okay?!" I heard a feminine voice say.
"'Ruby-boo?'" Amethyst repeated, cringing. I was still confused on what just happened and why I hadn't poofed yet. Aqua ran up to me. I dusted myself off and looked between Sapphire and Aqua.
"Ruby? Is something wrong?" Aqua asked.
"Uh...n-no. I'm fine." I hesitantly said. Just at that moment I just realized I was staring at Sapphire.
"Come on, let's finish them off." Aqua said. Oddly enough, I hesitated. Why would I... feel this way? I-... am I... growing feelings for Sapphire?

Sapphire looked at me with fear, yet, I could still see a small shimmer of hope left in her eye. After I've treated her so wrongly, why would she still believe in me?
"I.. uh... I..." I stuttered.
"Well?" Aqua asked impatiently.
"I... uh..- no." I said. Everyone gasped. Yellow Diamond looked like her head was about to start on fire. The gems had a sigh of relief. But my friends... my homeworld friends... they looked at me in disbelief. Zircon walked up to me.
"Ruby... y-you've changed. You've actually... become one of... one of them..." Zircon shuddered. Onyx walked up to me next.
"Did they brainwash you? We can fix it..." she looked back at the gems.
"Which one of you low-life rebels brainwashed my best friend?!" She shouted, death glaring everyone. Her glares always chill her victims down to the stone. She turned her head sharply towards Sapphire and stomped down her path, making the ground rumble beneath us.
