Breaking a Mirror is Bad Luck

My head hurt. I woke up, hopefully for real this time, and gathered my surroundings. As my vision started to clear, I noticed I was at the temple.
"Yes!!!-wait," I paused.

I smacked myself to test if I were awake or not.
"Yup. Definitely awake," I groaned in pain, holding my cheek that I slapped.

I got up and walked around.
"Hello?! Is anyone here!?" I shouted.

Nothing. I walked outside to see if the Crystal Gems were there. Nope. Then I heard some faint voices getting louder the closer they got. I peeked around to see if it were them. It was. They seemed distressed. Other than Steven, who was holding a bunch of multi-sized teddy bear plushies. I looked at Sapphire who was the most distraught of them all.

I ran inside and went to the bathroom. No, not for those reasons. I felt like I needed to freshen up a bit before I see Sapphire again. Gotta look my best for my Sapphy!

I looked through the mirror and practiced my compliments.
"Hey, how you doin'?-no... that's... that's just- yeash. Oh! How about... Ouch, that must've hurt. Falling from the heavens and all- no, that's even worse! You're trying too hard, Rubes. You're- what the..." I gasped, seeing the background behind my reflection darken.
"What the- You again?!" I shouted.
"I never left, sweetie," She giggled.
"Leave me alone!" I shouted. I ran to the door, but it was locked.
"Sorry, but I'm the only one who calls the shots around here," She smiled.
"Why would I listen to you?" I grumbled.
"Well, you are under my mind-chains,"
"'Mind-chains'? What kind of name is that?" I cringed.
"I don't know... the things that control your mind but not hypnotize you. Like- mind-thingies... like, uh... You know!" She got frustrated with herself.
"Look, whatever! I control you whether you like it or not!" She said, getting back on topic.
"Or, I could just-" I summoned my gauntlet and hit the mirror with full-force.

A satisfying 'clink' from each mirror shard filled the cramped room.
"That won't do anything," I heard her laugh.
"What! You're in my head, now!" I shouted.

I didn't get a response and heard the door open. It was Sapphire. She looked at me with a surprised, yet relieved, face.
"Ruby? What's going on?" She asked, still bewildered.
