POV
“Hyung? What if she doesn't remember you?” Daehyun questioned, taking a seat beside me.
“I don't know. I seriously don't know,” I ruffled my hair in frustration. “I can try to make her remember, but it'll be hard and I don't want her to suffer.”
“What if you try to woo her again?”
“It won't be as simple,” I sighed and rested my face in my palms. “Maybe this is a sign. Maybe we're not meant for each other.” once those words slipped out of my mouth, my entire heart broke. How can I even say something like that?!
“Hyung, you don't mean that. You're just saying it because you're in the heat of the moment. You love her and she loves you. All she ever talks to me about is how wonderful you are. I've seen how happy she is with you, that's why I decided to left her go. Please don't let me regret my decision. I know she wouldn't want you giving up on her.”
“I feel like a failure. I wasn't able to keep her safe nor the baby. She's been through so much because of me and every single time I just hurt her. She's better off without me, but I'm too selfish to let her go. I can't live without her, but I can't keep her by my side. She doesn't even know who I am,” I cried out. “Maybe it's good that she lost her memory, she doesn't need to remember all those horrifying events that's happened.”
“Yes, but she'll be missing a part of her. A huge part of her. None of the things that happened was your fault hyung. Fate decided to create another obstacle for the both of you to test your guys love for one another. Please try. I need you. We all need you. Jihyun needs you. Just try.”
“Okay.”
No One's Pov
The both have been waiting for over an hour and were finally let back into the room.
“Dae oppa, I'm hungry,” Luhan sadly smiled as he sat down. It always use to be 'Luhan oppa! Can we go eat dukboki?'
Daehyun chuckled, “Okay princess, I'll get you something yummy from the hospital cafeteria. How about you hyung?”
“I'm fine, thanks Daehyun.”
“But you haven't had a proper me-”
“I said I'm fine,” Luhan growled. Daehyun sighed and walked out, leaving the two alone in awkward silence.
“I'm sorry, but I don't remember catching your name,” he looked up to see Jihyun smiling sweetly at him. “What is it?”
“Luhan,” he replied back with a force smile.
“Luhan,” she muttered. “The doctor told me I lost my memory, so I'm sorry if I don't remember who you are,” she smiled meekly. “Who are you to me?”
“I'm.... just someone you know. A classmate.”
“Oh.” silence engulfed them once more. Jihyun sat there observing his features while Luhan stared into space with a blank expression.
“I'm back,” Daehyun could feel the awkwardness in the air and slowly approached Jihyun's bedside. “Here you go. I got you a fruit bowl, yogurt and salad.”
“Thanks oppa,” she smiled in glee as Luhan held back his tears as he watched them. He couldn't take it anymore, so he stood up to leave.
“Hyung, where are you going?”
“I think it's finally time for me to go home,” he simply said while gathering his things and stuffing it inside his backpack.
“Are you coming back to stay the night?” worry crossed his face as he saw Luhan's expression.
“I don't think so. She has you to take care of her now. Jihyun-ssi,” he nodded towards her and left without another word.
Jihyun's POV
“Dae, who is he to me?” I asked referring to the blond headed boy that was just in here.
He sighed and sat on the chair beside my bed, “That's Luhan. He's spent his entire day here after school and has been staying here all night for the past two months just waiting for you to wake up. This, you losing your memory, was something we thought that would never happen. It didn't even cross our minds. He was devastated when you didn't remember him.”
“That doesn't answer my question,” I snapped.
“He's your boyfriend and you both are madly in love with each other. That's why he's so heartbroken because you don't remember anything about him.”
“What happened to me?” I asked slowly.
“You were hit by a car.” I looked up at the door that Luhan walked out of.
“Is he coming back?”
“I'm sure he will. He can't go a day without seeing you,” Daehyun chuckled. “Hurry and eat your food, then get some rest. I guess I'll be staying the night tonight.”
“Okay,” I muttered sadly.
Why did you lie to me Luhan? Why did you say you were my classmate when really you're my boyfriend? I hope you come back soon...
