Caleb's POV

Fifteen minutes later, Hanna and I are sitting in the car listening to the anxious voice coming from our Kylie outside Freddy's house. She quickly explains everything to him as they walk down the cobblestone pathway to the car.

"We all set?" Hanna asks as Kylie climbs into the car with Freddy behind her. Luckily, the Marin family car is a seven seater and is able to hold on these helpers in it.

We hear the foursome chatting amongst themselves (we picked up Noah five minutes ago. We all live quite close together)

"Yup." Kylie finally says. (She was clearly distracted by "perfect hair's" ... hair? I am guessing!)

"All set?" Hanna asks me, sighing.

"Yup. Let's go..."

Ten Minutes Later

The whole drive to the Town Hall was quiet enough. The foursome heard one of their favourite songs- Closer by The Chainsmokers- come on the radio and decided to make themselves into a band and sing along. Kylie was surprisingly amazing while Kendall... not so much. I'm guessing the whole purpose of the karoke session was to break the icy silence and lift the mood. Well they certainly succeeded!

We finally arrive at the Town Hall. It is quiet. Peaceful. A little too quiet and peaceful for a town like ours. Something doesn't feel right... There is an icy silence all around us. Luckily, the bell isn't going to ring for another half an hour as it would be totally deafening over the quietness of the town. It kinda feels as though the life and soul of this usually bustling town has been drained from existance. It sends nervous chills descending down my spine.

We slowly get out of the car and I watch as Hanna scans her eyes around the desolate Town Hall grounds. She bites her lip and runs a hand through her shoulder length hair indecisive about her next movement...

"Did you see that!" Kylie suddenly exclaims. I spin round to find Kylie pointing in the direction of the Town Hall doors.

"What happened?" Hanna asks.

"There was a shadow... of a tall person... it wiped across the white doors like lightening but still completely recognisable." Kylie explains confusion in her voice.

I watch as Freddy wraps his arm around Kylie's waist, drawing her closer. I admire Freddy for always being there for Kylie when she needs him. That's something u three boys have in common: we are
always there for out loved ones... we will never leave them...

Hanna glances over at me again and our eyes lock. We send a signal that only we can detect and nod our heads in agreement. We decide to walk slowly and quietly to the double white doors of the Town Hall.

Hanna clasps her hand around mine and squeezes it as a way of reassurance and comfort. It sends nervous butterflies exploding in my stomach. I never want to let go of her...

We hear the muffled voices of the teenagers behind us but that is the only sound detectable in the isolated town.

We creep closer and closer to the white, towering doors- being wary of our footsteps and voices.

"AHHH!"

We hear the piercing sound of a girl's scream echo through the isolated town. It is deafening. Sickening. It slices through the air like a knife.

I spin round on my feet and come face to face with... Ashley...

A pale, ghostlike face glowing in the dark night. A lifeless body. Blood flowing out of her like a river. Her eyes wide, icy, cold...

She's gone...

I watch as Freddy cuddles a shaking, trembling Kylie. Kylie's eyes are bloodshot and owl-like. Her face is as pale as a ghost. She looks... petrified. Shocked. The life has been drained out of her.

Kendall buried her head in Noah's chest unable to look at the terrifying body lying in front of us.

Everything after that happens in slow motion...

Hanna runs to her mothers side, kneeling down beside her, caressing her face...

Tears stream down her cheeks and I can feel them trail down mine too...

I thought we were done with all of this heartache and suffering... but clearly A has something different in mind...

I am still pondering over why? Why kill Ashley? What did she do to deserve to be murdered? Thrown from the tall tower above the Town Hall...

All I can think about is Hanna... and Kendall and Kylie. It isn't fair that they have to go through all of this. Hanna has dealt with enough heartache and drama too last her a lifetime. Kendall and Kylie are only young. They deserve to live life to the full; not to be haunted by the things that they encounter in their day to day lives...

God I feel like screaming. This is so unfair...

Nothing will ever be the same again for the Marin/Rivers family...
