Chapter 28

Ariana's P.O.V.

"Ariana, how have you been?"Trevor asks me as we both walk out of our math class. "I've been good, how about you?"I ask him.

"I've been good too. I took your advice on continuing to look for the right girl and I think that I may have found her"He says and I smile.

"That's great Trevor. Who is she? Maybe I know her?"I ask him.

"You do know her actually, her name is Paige"He says and I widen my eyes in shock. "I heard that you guys are really close friends"He adds.

"We are, well we used to be"I tell him.

"What do you mean?"He asks me, confused. "Me and Paige are kind of in a fight right now. We aren't talking to each other"I explain.

"I'm sorry to hear that"He says. "Don't be, Paige is just stubborn sometimes"I say.

"She doesn't seem that way"He says. "Looks can be deceiving"I tell him.

"Well, I really like her so I was wondering if you could tell me if she's seeing anyone?"He asks. "Yea, she has boyfriend"I answer him. "Sorry"I add.

"I was really hoping that she wasn't dating anyone"He sighs. I want to tell him to be glad Paige is already dating someone so he doesn't have to deal with having her as a girlfriend, but I don't.

"I guess I'll have to keep looking for the right girl than"He says and I grin.

"You'll find her, remember, don't give up"I pat his shoulder.

"Trevor, you ready to go?"A tall, muscular boy comes over to us and asks Trevor. "Yea, I'm ready"Trevor nods.

"Who's this?"The boy points to me. "That's my friend Ariana. Ariana, meet my older brother Jake"Trevor introduces us to each other. I kindly shake Jake's hand and give him a friendly smile.

"Your Justin's girlfriend right?"He asks me and I nod. "You know Justin?"I ask. "Yea, we're on the football team together"He answers.

"That's right, he mentioned he went out with you on Monday night"I tell him, Jake's name ringing a bell in my mind.

"What do you mean that He went out with me on Monday night?"He asks me, a confused look overtaking his face.

"Justin told me that after football practice, you guys and a couple other guys on the team went out to eat. He also said that you all crashed at your place afterwards"I tell him.

"That never happened"He says. Now it's my turn to be confused.

"After practice, I went straight home. I didn't go out with Justin or any of my teammates. They didn't stay the night at my house either"He says.

"But that's what Justin told me"I say.

"He must be lying to you than cause I promise you, we didn't go out Monday night"He says.

Justin lied to me? Why would he lie to me about his whereabouts? Where did he actually go on Monday night?

"Me and my brother have to get going. It was nice meeting you"Jake smiles at me and urges his brother to begin walking away with him.

"It was nice meeting you too"I tell him before turning my gaze to Trevor. I wave him goodbye before walking away and heading in the direction towards my next class.

I can't believe that Justin lied to me. What if he's starting to see someone else?

I'm slowly starting to believe what Paige said to me during our fight the other day. Justin can find someone way better than me. What if he has but he's hiding his true feelings just to keep me happy?
