Chapter 42

Ariana's P.O.V.

"Look at it, it's beautiful"Paige gapes at the Statue of Liberty. Me, Justin, Paige, and Lucas are currently walking on the Brooklyn bridge.

We arrived in New York three days ago. All week we have been exploring new York city. We've done most of the touristy things to do when you visit New York.

I've always dreamed of visiting this place. Seeing it on TV or in pictures, doesn't give the city much justice. I knew New York was beautiful but I didn't know it was this beautiful.

Tomorrow is new years eve so we plan to wake up early in the morning to get a good spot in front of the ball when it drops at midnight. Tomorrow night is all me and Paige have talked about the past few days.

We all wear big sweaters and lots of clothes to keep us warm. We've had to do this the entire week, it being really cold in New York. We're from California so we usually don't have to deal with this type of weather.

"We have to get a picture in front of it"Paige says, wanting for us to take a picture with the statue of liberty in the background.

I have lost count on how many pictures we've taken this week. Every single thing that we do, Paige wants to take a picture. At first it was fun, but now it's slowly starting to get annoying. Last night she had us take a picture in front of lightpole because she claimed it wasn't like normal lightpoles.

"Lucas take a picture of me and Ariana"Paige tells him while handing him her phone. She grabs my arm and positions both of us in front of the railing of the bridge, with the statue of liberty behind us.

Lucas snaps a picture and than hands Paige her phone back. "Perfect"Paige says while looking down at the photo.

"Can you take a picture of me and Ariana as well?"Justin asks Lucas. He nods and takes Justin's phone from him.

I position myself with Justin and we both smile for the camera. "Take one more"Justin tells him and places a kiss on my cheek for the second picture. 

Lucas hands Justin's phone back to him once he's finished. Me and Justin both look down at the pictures and smile at them.

"I think this one is my favorite"He points down to the photo of him kissing my cheek. "I think that one's my favorite too"I nod.

"Looks like I found my new lock screen"He says and sets the picture as the background for his lock screen. I laugh when a memory of him saying that exact same thing during our Santa Monica trip comes to my mind.

We continue to walk along the bridge and take more pictures wherever Paige insists.

It takes us almost an hour to walk along the entire bridge, the stops for pictures making it take longer.

"What should we do next?"I ask as we stand at the end of the long bridge.

"Ooh, we should go ice skating in central park"Paige suggest. "I'm up for it if you guys are"I say and look at Justin and Lucas for their approval.

They nod in agreement to the plan and we begin to head towards the closest subway.

When we arrive, we pay for our ride fares with the metro cards we purchased at the beginning of the week. We than board the subway train and find a seat.

The first time we rode the subway a few days ago, Paige was petrified. She held onto me the entire ride and even started to cry. I on the other hand was more than excited.

We've used either the subway or walking to reach our destinations. Trying to go places in a taxi would take forever due to New York traffic.

Paige has slowly gotten used to the subway and now has no problems getting onto it. I still get excited every time we take it. If I lived in york, I would take the subway everywhere. I know to some people that may seem weird, but to me the subway is fun. You get to meet new people and experience different cultures everywhere that you go.
