It was awkward to say the least since i had to be careful what i said "well Miss Evans Draco here told me he had a buddie but i had no idea you were so polite.....oh if only i had a girl... your parents must be so proud" mrs malfoy praised only to catch her son shaking his head signaling her to stop but it was too late "erm....its very nice of you to say ma'am but unfortunately im orphaned" i laughed sadly "o-oh im sorry.." "dont be ma'am im just happy to think they would be proud of me...that alone makes me happy and more determined to live my life to the fullest" Axel poked his head out from my jumper and yipped at her making her jump slightly "i-im sorry Axel has a habit of doing that" i stammered embarassedly "hes adorable...." she seemed captivated by his eyes and soon squealed before petting him. We made our way to the Malfoy manor only to see an enraged platinum haired man pacing back and forth "Lucius? What evers the matter?" His wife asked worriedly, "that blasted boy! He took one of the elves...he tricked me into freeing him!" He bellowed making me jump and tremor in terror, Axel whimpered in my grasp drawin his attention to me "what is this....girl doing here? Draco! Dont tell me you got a blasted Gryffindor as your Buddie!" Malfoy seemed to stammer and stutter 'he must not want to disappoint his family....' "i knew it! Why must you shame the family na-" "excuse me sir but if i may interlude id like to answer for myself" he tsked as he drew his attention back to me, his wife looking relieved at her son being freed from her husbands venom. "...introduce yourself then" he demanded making me frown "My name is Celestia Evans, highest scoring student in all classes, and also of the Slytherin house...pleasure to meet you at last sir" his eyes flickered to me but i held my ground "....shes got a backbone i will give her that...well done Draco" both sighed in relief until his eyes landed on Axel "...and who pray tell...is this?" Axels fluffy white head poked out from under my jumper once again and gazed curiously up at the older man "this is Axel, hes my familiar" "interesting.....its difficult to find one of such a rare colour.....theyre hard to tame too even at a young age" he looked directly at me again just searching my eyes till he gave a satisfied smirk "...i take it your staying for the holidays? Your more than welcome" i bowed respectfully and gave my thanks as i was guided to a guest room where i settled in before Mrs. and Mr. Malfoy shrieked from downstaira making me bolt from the room and into the dinning room "what should we do since Dobbys gone he cant prepare the dinner for this evening and i cant do any spells to cook anything..." both seemed in a small spot of bother till they noticed me "i-im sorry i heard screams and came running...i was worried something had happened to you both" Lucius furrowed his brows in confusion before his wife shot him a look....i still dont know what it was but he nodded before reassuring me everything was fine "...i...also couldnt help but over hear that your worried about dinner? If you want...i know how to cook" "you do?" "Only by hand though i use to do alot of house work for my aunt and uncle" "and they made you do it by hand?!" They gasped in horror "its more fun when its by hand...can i be shown to the kitchen?" They seemed hesitant at first to allow a guest to work in their house but lead me there none the less, once shown there they stood curiously by the table and watched. I tied up my hair and tied on an apron given to me by a house elf, i thought over my options as i looked at the ingredients before carefully picking out what i would need. "Mr and Mrs Malfoy how does butter and garlic prawns, followed by rack of lamb with roasted potatoes, and for desert cinnamon apple roses?" They smiled amd gave me appreciative nods before i began with the lamb first, after that i then began the starter and once finished i prepared the apple slices and placed them in sugar water, i gathered the plates and cutlery and made my way back to the dinning room before laying it out and making my way back. I could hear them talking behind the door "....Celestia...... strong girl...... pretty....." it was only a few bits but what caught my ear was "she'd be a perfect wife.....Draco" i blushed and my eyes widened till i felt a hand on my shoulder making me jump, Malfoy held his finger over his lips telling me to shush but....i smelt the butter on the shrimp and hurried in to save them, taking them off the hob and dishing them onto a serving platter, the lamb was still cooking with the potatoes which meant there was plenty of time before it was ready, i smiled and carried it up once everyone was seated "it smells delicious Celestia" "thank you sir" i smiled warmly and began to dish it out to everyone and poured their drinks before seating myself, "so tell us more about yourself Celestia...do you have many friends at hogwarts?" "Not really sir no, except for Draco of course" at the mention of me using his first name he seemed to start choking on a piece of prawn making me pat his back and give him a drink "you okay?" "Im...fine" he croaked making me laugh "i see.... i dont understand why... you should have more friends" "its because i study more than anything, anyway they always say its the quality of a friend rather than the quantity and i must say your son is a very good friend indeed" the beamed with pride before continuing to question me "what were you hoping to be when you graduate?" "I was hoping to become a Magizoologist... animals are so interesting and they dont judge you....oh! The lamb! Please excuse me" i excused myself before collecting the empty plates and putting them in the sink to be washed after, i took new plates, dished up the food neatly and with a quick charm had them levitating to the dinning room, "this is so good...you're very talented Celestia" "thank you.... i understand from draco that both of you were both slytherins?" "Thats correct yes" "how did you meet?" I wish i never asked.......it didnt end....poor Malfoy looked about ready to end his misery and bash his head on the table "you will have to forgive me for interrupting but i must finish the dessert" "oh! Ill come too Celestia, two hands are better than one" i couldnt contain the grin that plastered across my face as we went to the kitchen and i showed her what to do, "okay so a strip of filo pastry, then line with the apple slices, then fold the bottom and roll?" "Yep!" I chirped and soon enough we were finished, we sprinkled with cinnamon and i placed them to bake, however i didnt realise my wristband had risen exposing the vicious slashes to my skin, an audible gasp sounded next to me from the motherly woman and she grasped my wrist in her hand "w-what are these?" "Those are..from a spell miss fire and my aunts cat" i played off calmly "oh Celestia.... they look so painful" she traced over one making me gasp in pain and her hand to recoil "let me-" "its okay really ... erm.... Mrs Malfoy? Could we not tell anyone about these? Its kind of embarassing being the best in school but failing a simple spell...." she looked torn as if contemplating whether she should tell someone or not but nodded with a sigh "just make sure your careful next time okay?" "Okay". I removed the rose shaped apple treats from the oven and plated them before bringing them up to the dinning hall once again, the rest of dinner went off without a hitch and it seemed to me as if the cold hearted master of the house had warmed up to me, his wife being very kind under ger stern and cold exterior and their son? Well he qas my first and only friend. I sat in my 'room' and just pondered through thoughts as to why i was there....what was my purpose in the world. I touched my blinded eye, sure i could partially see through it but even with my glasses everything was just a blob, Axel had long since drifted off to sleep leaving me alone, suddenly a small knock sounded, i answered to see my buddie himself standing there "Celestia" i felt strange hearing him say my name but not in a bad way....i liked the way were werent referring to one another as our surnames "Draco" we smiled warmly as i let him in "that was a really nice meal...thank you" "your welcome, my aunt and uncle use to make me cook the food for special events with Haz but then i guess they just forgot" i chuckled but Draco didnt laugh...he just creased his face in concern "you dont have a good life do you?" "Its better now so i dont care... the pasts the past and nothing can change it....its nice to visit but bad to stay so i have to just enjoy the good times while i have it" "are you..... having a good time here?" He was watching me intently and nervously "i am very much Draco...your so lucky to have your parents.... you only get one pair so treaure them" he nodded and quickly jumped up before dragging me off with him, i was lead outside to thr garden where we laid on the grass and stared at the remarkably clear skys, the stars twinkled and the moon shone brightly like a grin in the sky "im glad i have you as my buddy...." he broke the peaceful silence "i am too" "well always be buddies....im excited to learn more about you...if thats okay of course" "course it is dont be silly, your a dear friend to me Draco" he smiled brightly, happy with my answer, i plucked some daisies and formed them into a necklace before looping them over his neck he smiled a small smile before plucking a yellow rose and handing it to me "yellow rose means....friendship?" "Correct as always" i held the rose close as we both watched the stars.
