I refused to let them see me defeated.

I needed to talk to Rosie, she was the only person that I really had. I walked into a house that smelled like cigarettes and cup of noodles. Walking into the kitchen, I see Rosie eating while she played on her phone. I cleared my throat so she could tell i was there & she awkwardly shifted once she realized I was in the room.

I sat down on the table & connected my hands together to prevent them from shaking.

"I'm sorry I said those things at the wedding." Rosie let out a sigh as she rested her hands on her head.

"No I'm sorry, I should've been home more often instead of acting like a fucking child." She grabbed my hand gently. Out of no where, we just started laughing. It was the type of laughing that you have tears leaking from your eyes. Eventually, the laughing turned into sobs. Rosie engulfed me in a hug as I sobbed into her shoulder. "Why did I have to say that to Gregory?" Rosie sighed. "Because it's what you've felt all this time & it wasn't until that moment when you couldn't hold it anymore, not the best place but still, you kind of just exploded."

"I just want to move on already."

"You will Amnesia, it's just going to take a little work."

Work.

I need to work for the relationships I have with people if I want them to work. I need to tell Gregory how I felt in a way where it wasn't just words hurting him.

"Have you seen Gregory."

"Not since the wedding."

Shit. That meant one of two things, he was either gone for good or he was in some motel shorting up with complete strangers

"That fried of yours dropped by earlier." My heart skipped a beat when Rosie said that.

"What friend?"

"The one from the wedding, Ethan I think his name was." My heart stopped instead. I wanted nothing to do with him.

"He dropped this off for you."

"..."

"Said you should read it alone." Rosie handed me a white envelope with my name written on the front of it in cursive writing.

So fucking dramatic.

I took the envelope from Rosie's hand & rushed up to my room I immediately dropped my bag onto the ground and sat on my bed as I stared at the envelope. What could he possibly say? If it was some half ass apology then there was no point in reading it. Maybe I should just throw it away? I am done with the Dolan twins & everything they have to say.

But what if it's something important?

I groaned as I opened the envelope, anything but gently.

The words, "I miss you Amie..." Immediately caught my eye.

There was only one person who called me Amie & spelled it in that exact way.

"It has come to my attention that you recently met my best friends, Ethan & Grayson, how do you like them? Remind you of me right? Gosh we did nearly everything together..."

"... I'm going to be living with Madison again soon... We should catch up... Maybe the twins could join us..."

I couldn't continue reading because by then my hands were too shaky to hold up the envelope. A sob escaped my lips.

He can't be coming back.

This is just a nightmare, same like all the other ones.

Except it wasn't, because this one was worse.

Much worse.
