"Ode to prince, ending in a jukebox on fire in Ohio." -button poetry
"Alright what the hell is going on with you?" I looked up to see a half concerned, half annoyed Jesse standing next to me.
"Nothing why would you think that?"
"Because you've been brewing that same cup of coffee for about ten minutes." His eyes trailed down to my hands and I indeed had been brewing a coffee for ten minutes; you can tell just by smelling the coffee.
"Shit." I said as I grabbed the cup and threw it out. I leaned against the counter with my arms and sighed. This of course didn't go unnoticed by Jesse. He was a very observant person.
"Seriously though what the hell is wrong with you? Is everything alright?" Jesse's once half concerned half annoyed eyes were now filled with concern. I hesitated in telling him but luckily I was saved by the bell. The door bell that is. I breathed a sigh of relief, gave Jesse an apologetic look, and made my way to the cash register.
Once I made my way to the cash register I now wished I was still talking to Jesse. I was shooting daggers into the hazel eyes that have just walked through those doors and I noticed him squirm under my intense stare. Now he knows how it feels.
"Hey Jesse can you cover this one for me I need to go to the bathroom." I said as I kept eye contact with Grayson until Jesse came over to take his order.
"Amnesia-" Grayson started but Jesse was quick to cut him off.
"What could I get you today?" I could hear the false friendliness in his voice and I smiled to myself as I walked to the bathroom.
As soon as I entered the bathroom I could hear a scuffle going on outside. I turned around in a flash and looked towards the door. Panic started to rise up inside of me. Flashbacks started to come back to me and the coffee shop bathroom started to form into the Lucky Bar back in Arizona.
"It isn't real- it isn't real" I whispered to myself as I put my head in my hands as I slowly backed up into the stall and shut the door. As soon as the door shut I heard the bathroom door open.
"Amnesia?" Grayson's voice somehow brought me back to reality and I was now aware of my current position. I was crawled up in a ball in the corner of the bathroom stall. I quickly got to my feet when I noticed Grayson's vans coming closer to my stall.
"Amnesia I know that you're in that stall." I heard Grayson's hand touch the bathroom stall door. I wondered if I should respond. Maybe he would go away if I just stayed quiet.
"I know that you think staying quiet is gonna make me leave but I'm telling you right now it's not."
I sighed and rolled my eyes. Well there goes that plan.
"You do know this is the women's restroom right?"
I heard a chuckle before he responded with, "yes I do."
"And you know you're a guy and you're not supposed to be in here right?"
"Well you don't either." I could only imagine the smirk growing on his face.
"Well I don't have a penis soooo."
"Yeah but you said this was the women's restroom, and you're just a little girl."
