[Artemis]

The type of control the Fowl family possesses over the country known as Ireland cannot be explained by a short essay written by an adolescent. When they first arrived here is an unknown fact, which was overlapped and confused by people to the point where there is no valid answer. They are a family of five: including Artemis Fowl Senior, Angeline Fowl, Artemis Fowl the II, Myles and Beckett Fowl. Of course, though, due to their superiority, they also possess a large amount of enemies. So in order to protect her children, Angeline got the Butler family to work for her.

The Butler family is rather small, only consisting of two members: Domovoi and Juliet Butler. Dom was assigned to protect Artemis with his life when Artemis was only a baby, he wasn't used to protecting children but he possessed the training. Because of this, he didn't refuse. Juliet is Dom's little sister, but she can pack a real punch when she has to. She was ordered to protect the young twins, Myles and Beckett, and was rather okay with watching the two young ones.

These two families share the same characteristics of one another, they are both vampires. The difference between them, though, is that the Fowl family is the only surviving bloodline of the ancient and the pureblood vampires. The Butler family received vampirism from Angeline through drinking her blood that she offered. She wanted to make sure that they would be strong enough to protect her precious children, and vampirism held that key. So, the Butler family's blood is dirtied by vampirism while the Fowl family is rich with vampirism of their elders.

Dom is respected by Artemis Senior, as he has proven himself on many occasions and Angeline considers him her own family. Juliet doesn't have the same treatment, though, as Artemis Senior puts it: "She's far too reckless to be trusted by my two youngest sons, by the way she fights and handles situations... I'm surprised that she is still alive, vampire or not." This is to be expected, Artemis Senior has a hard time trusting others who aren't his own blood related family. Over time, however, his feelings will change about this blonde headed, reckless girl with the strength of a bull.

Enough with the details now, it is time for the young Fledging Artemis Fowl the II to start his transition to a real man, by vampire standards. This will be rough on the boy, even though he has suffered through much worse. Vampire puberty is one of the worst things anything on earth could experience, even if they are a child genius. Now then... time to check up on the raven haired, soon-to-be man.

Artemis Fowl the II sat in his office chair that was too big for him, staring at his computer screen with a bored expression. There was brain numbing headache eating at him, which was due to the fact that he hasn't feed in a week. The longest time a vampire Fledging has gone without eating was a week in a half, but Artemis wasn't looking to break that record. At least, not at his age at the moment. He was known to do surprising things, but it isn't wise not to feed when you have just transitioned into a Fledging.

A Fledging is the second transition for an ancient vampire, and is one of the most annoying transitions any vampire has to suffer through. Well, not every vampire has to suffer through this, only every ancient vampire does. Their blood was rich with gold and power, as his father says, and they have to go through stages to reach adulthood. Utter nonsense, was what Artemis wanted to reply to that statement but knew better than to snap back to his father, and nodded in agreement. Whether he truly agreed though, his father would never find out.

There was a faint knock at the door, causing Artemis to lose the focus he did not have, and glance at the wooden door where the sound came from. If he had been more focused, he would've heard the footsteps from down the hall before the person got here, but the headache distracted his thinking process and dulled his sense ever so slightly. Artemis ran his tongue over his teeth before opening his mouth to speak, he didn't want to see anyone right now but it could be Dom so he could bear through it. So, begrudgingly, Artemis told whoever to come in. Hoping that no annoyance was present in his voice, especially if it was his mother coming.

Dom slowly opened the door, standing up as straight as any vampire could, as he looked at Artemis. He was perfectly clean, without a drop of blood on him, but Artemis knew that Dom went off to go feed. Since it was a part of a vampire's normal life, he didn't get bothered by Dom slipping away from time to time to get his meal. Which now that Dom was fed, Artemis can only presume that he came here ask for his preference of a meal. A meal is a rather rude to thing to call a living being, but it is better than Human Cattle.

"Artemis, you haven't eating in a while, have you?" Dom asked, but Artemis knew that he already knew the answer. So, there was no reason to ask, but it was a common courtesy to at least ask his principal's for a response. Artemis glanced away for a second, as he rested his head on his abnormally pale hands as he contemplated his answer. He didn't want to feed today, as he doesn't want to see a human fidget against his fangs, but as Dom already knows the answer, there would really be no reason to.

"No..." Artemis sighed and spoke louder this time. "No, I didn't yet. I was far too busy focusing on other matters, but if you're going to get me a meal anyway, just grab someone nearby. Make it a female, too, males just taste..."

"Different?"

"... yes, different I suppose. I have always preferred a female's blood anyway, it is much... sweeter than a male's, not to be sexist or anything, that's their actual taste." Artemis rambled for a bit, before realizing that he was in fact rambling and decided to quiet down before he embarrassed himself. Until he fed, his mind would be in a different place. Perhaps feeding right now wouldn't be too horrible.

Dom nodded and turned on his heel, his back now facing the new Fledging so Artemis could see his broad shoulders. "I'll be back with your next human cattle, and I promise it will be a female to your liking. I actually did have someone in mind for you, I think she fits your certain... blood desire, I suppose."

Artemis looked up at the back of Dom's neck, and wondered about who he could be talking about. Was there a particular female he has been looking at without realizing it? No, he hasn't left the house in a while so it couldn't be. That raises the question more. Who is Dom talking about?
