Hermione quickly got her undergarments on and let me heal the gashes. She whimpered often and kept flinching.

When I finally finished, Hermione wasn't in a right state. She quickly got dressed and hugged her body tightly. Every time I tried to talk to her she would mutter she needs time to herself for a moment.

I decided to leave her alone so I left the room.

Hermione

I sat on the bed. My legs folded to my chest and my arms around them.

I hated every minute of that. It reminded me far too much of Ron.

I let my mind wonder and my thoughts got worse. What if this is all an act? Why would he keep me alive this long? Why did he spend so much on me? There must be a reason.... why? Unless... he just wants me to trust him. He just wants to gain my trust and for me to tell him everything. I couldn't let that happen. I couldn't risk it.

I pulled on my shoes and unlocked the window. I knew if I was caught I would be in trouble. I hoped I would land safely as I pushed myself out of the two story window.

After the harsh landing, I made it to my feet. When I looked up I groaned when I realized the manor was in a forest. Every angle around the house was trees. I set off into the forest.

Draco

After about ten minutes I heard a noise; the window opening. I knocked and got no reply. I tried again. No reply.

I quickly opened the door and cursed loudly when I saw the empty room. The window was wide open. I wasted no time in putting a trace on her magic. Wand or not she had magic.

I apparated outside and followed her trail. She was really fast for how injured she was. The trace was already trailing deep into the forest. I ran quickly after her. We were getting deeper and deeper into the forest when I finally caught sight of her.

It wasn't long before she realized I was following so she hid instead. I followed the trace and found her trembling form. She had her back to a tree and tears were silently cascading down her cheeks.

"Hermione," I sighed.

She looked up and started sobbing when she saw me. Full hysteria.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" She repeated over and over between sobs.

I knelt in front of her and she flinched. She was terrified.

"Hermione," I started, "come with me back to the house, we will talk in the room."

I tried to pull her to her feet but her knees buckled. I pulled her into my arms and lifted her up.

"Please... I'm sorry... don't hurt me!" She sobbed.

I froze at her words. I knew she needed to be punished but I would never harm her. I wish she would understand that.

"Hermione, I'm not going to hurt you," I said firmly.

She continued to sob. I sighed and carried her back to the house. I put a silencing charm on her before carrying her to my room. I set her on the bed and locked the door.

When I took the charm off her I expected her to still be sobbing, but instead, she was silent. She wasn't moving and was silent.

"Hermione?" I asked. "Hermione?"

I waved a hand in front of her face but she had no reaction. She was in shock. I put a blanket around her and sat next to her.

Tears were still streaming down her cheeks.

"Hermione, why did you run?" I asked.

She was silent.

"Hermione," I whispered, "I'm not going to hurt you."

She blinked but didn't look at me.

"I don't believe you," she whispered, almost inaudible.

I grabbed her shoulders and roughly shook her. Her eyes went wide when I started yelling.

"Hermione! What has gotten into you?!" I yelled.

She trembled in my arms and looked at me with a terrified expression.

"I...I...I thought.... I..." She stuttered as more tears raced down her cheeks.

"I love you," I told her. "So you have to believe me when I say I won't hurt you."

She barely nodded so I wiped the tears from her cheeks.

"I...I'm...I'm s..sorry," she whimpered.

I pulled her into a hug.

"Your grounded, by the way," I whispered in her ear.

"F..from what?" She asked, still shaking.

"Books," I replied.

She groaned but hugged my tighter. After a bit, the shaking subsided.

Hermione

"Why did you run?" Draco asked, pulling back a bit.

"I wasn't thinking right," I replied. "I was... my mind wasn't right."

I held him close again and sat in his lap.

"You scared me when you ran," he said suddenly. "If you would have made it out of the twenty acres of forest, you would have been caught by one of the many muggle prisons."

I tensed at the thought. If Draco hadn't stopped me, I would have died in the forest or... gone back to Ron. The branding on my back made it certain. He would kill me for sure, or sell me to someone worse, or torture me.

I hadn't realized I was crying until Draco wiped the tears from my cheeks. Without warning, I smashed my lips to his. I felt him smirk against my lips. I pulled back.

"I... am hungry," I muttered.

A split second later he showed an Apple in my mouth. I glared at him and took a bit of it.
