"Draco?! What's going on?!" Theo asked, jumping off his bed."She tried to drown herself," I told him with a shaky voice. "I..I... had to use the spell you showed me. She... She stopped breathing.. and I panicked and-"
"Draco, calm down," Theo said, putting a hand on my shoulder
He carefully lifted Hermione from my arms and set her on his bed.
"I...I..I'm.. f..fine," Hermione muttered, her voice shaky and cracking.
Theo muttered a few healing spells.
"She's gonna be okay," he told me. "She just needs time to rest."
"Thank you so much," I told him. "Thank you."
"Do you know why she did it?" He asked.
"He t...told m..me," Hermione stuttered.
"Who told you?" I asked.
"R..Ron... he t..told.... told me..." She answered.
"Can I see?" I asked.
She barely nodded.
"Legilimens," I muttered.
I saw her nightmare. Her thoughts after. It made sense. I also saw her last nightmares joining in what he was saying. I stopped and looked at Theo.
"He told her," I muttered.
Theo looked into her mind. When he stopped he gave me a worried look. I watched as he made Hermione talk a sleeping drought; she didn't fight. He stood up and went to his bookshelf. He tossed me a book.
"It should help with her... don't let her read it, she might get suspicious. You told me a while back she had a curse on her nightmares, making her relive it. If she can overcome her anxiety then the curse might lift," he told me. "It tells you everything you need to know about helping her. And when she's ready, let her stop with the sleeping droughts."
"Thank you.... thank you so much," I told him, picking Hermione up.
"No problem, mate," he replied. "Make sure she gets rest and if anything like this happens again use tempus sanandi, it will heal her faster. It does have some side affects so you can't use it often. You can also use it when she's hurt."
"Okay, thanks... bye," I said before apparating.
I set Hermione on the bed and laid next to her. I brushed a stray strand of hair out of her face and stroked her cheek.
I then, sat up, and opened the book Theo gave me.
~*~*~
Hermione shifted so I put the book in the drawer. I turned so I was facing her and stroked her cheek.
She slowly moved her hand and gripped mine.
"Draco," she whispered, opening her eyes.
"Hermione," I replied.
"I'm sorry," she muttered.
I lent down and kissed her.
"Never do that again," I muttered.
"Are you mad?" She asked in a strangled voice.
"I am mad," I replied and she tensed. "But not at you."
"W..what?" She asked.
"I'm mad at the one that made you suffer so much, you thought the only way you could get out would be to die," I replied.
She snuggled close to me.
"I'm sorry," she whispered again.
I didn't reply.
"I..I was just... and.. I was.." She stuttered.
I pressed my lips to hers again. She instantly stopped talking.
"Hermione, I'm not going to say it's okay because it's not. You need to talk to me about this stuff so I can help you," I told her.
She nodded.
"I..I know... I...I was just," she started stuttering again. "I.. just don't like to talk about it... like the nightmares... he..he was."
I kissed her again.
"I already know," I told her.
"A..and he told me... he..he said I.. would have gotten out of it..." tears started to well up in her eyes, "he was going to kill me... a..and... I..I'd never feel pain and," the tears started to fall, "and I knew he was right."
I wrapped my arms around her and held her close.
"Hermione, you know-"
"A..and so I...I wanted t..to do it," she sobbed. "I didn't even think twice! I just wanted to escape the pain!"
I just held her as she sobbed.
"Hermione, just know I'm always here for you," I told her.
"I...I t..thought you wouldn't care if I... if I... died," she sobbed.
"I love you Hermione," I told her.
"I love you too," she sobbed.
I pulled her into my lap and cradled her in my arms.
It's okay now, Ron is far, far away," I shushed her. "I'm here now."
After a bit, her sobs subsided and she buried her face in my neck.
~*~*~
I placed the room. I was thinking. Thinking too much. What would I have done if she died? I would have gone after her. What's wrong with me? Why am I like this? I really need a shower.
I jumped when someone apparated beside me.
"Sorry mate," Theo said.
"It's fine," I muttered.
"How are you? You looked pretty shaken yesterday," he asked.
"I'm fine," I sighed. "I was honestly scared yesterday."
"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked. "Because I would like to know what happened."
I sighed and nodded. I sat on the bed and he took a chair.
"Well... I woke up to the faucet turning off so I got out of bed. When I knocked to the door she didn't answer so I knocked harder and called for her. When she didn't answer again I opened the door. Her head was under the water and her body was limp..." I shuttered. "I pulled her out of the water and she wasn't breathing. I used the spell you showed me over and over." I hid my face in my hands so he couldn't see the tears welling in my eyes. "I...I thought she was gone but a few seconds later she started coughing. I gave her a few minutes before I came to your house," I explained.
I wiped my eyes on my sleeve and looked up at Theo. He was thinking. He blinked and looked at me.
"I think the only thing we can really do, without seeing a professional councillor, would be to keep an eye and her and do what the book says," Theo stated. "We can't really do much."
I nodded and looked at Hermione. She was sleeping peacefully, as if nothing happened.
"Thank you," I told him, "for everything."
"I'm going to go home and sleep," he said, "if she gets too stressed use calming potion... not so many this time."
He smirked before he apparated.
