Chapter 13

I went down stairs the next morning and was headed for the couch until I heard sizzling.

“You want some food?” he smiled me.

I smiled back.

“I probably look like crap…”

He laughed.

“No you don’t. You look like… well okay, yes you do.” I laughed.

He smiled and continued, “But this will help.”

He took a step aside, and saw what he was laughing about. Ria, she was here.

She smiled at and said,

“Good morning ma’am. What would you like to eat?”

I smiled and ran toward her and through my arms around her.

She laughed hugged me back.

“Ria came to my house last night and was talking to my mom.” said Garrett; “she said that she knew everything but that she wanted to see you…” he trailed off.

“I couldn’t stand to it. I had to make sure you were okay.” She trailed off.

I hugged her.

“So how long have you known our little secret, Ria?” I asked, softly putting her on the couch.

“Well, since you were… born or changed…”

she looked nerves.

“Okay, well how did you find out about my changing? It’s not bad that you know but I need to know how you know.” I told her soothing her.

She walked over to the kitchen portion of the room. Started making eggs and flipping the bacon and sausage.

“Well, your brother Jake told me. He came to me and said that he had done something… I then said I didn’t understanding so he took me to your room, and I saw you lying there sweating and bleeding, twisting and turning and crying out to me…” she trailed off closing her eyes and going pale.

“Honestly I don’t remember anything, just blacking out then waking up really different.” I shrugged, “I don’t remember anything, just flashes.” I promised further.

Garrett put his arm around me holding me close. She looked at him, I wondered if she was scared.

“You’re safe here, you know.” I said gently.

“I know, I just can’t believe it is still, its all different.” Ria cried softly.

“I know Ria, I know” I said, wishing I could help her.

“Is there anything I can get you, Ria?” Garrett asked

I expected her to flinch but she didn’t even cringle.

“No I am fine.”

She was quiet for a long moment. I sat down on the stole at the breakfast bar. Trying to remember anything on anything, she was saying.

She looked at me.

“I wish you hadn’t changed but ever since, you are finding yourself and being more social.” she looked at Garrett.

She moved to the fruit salad and started cutting up apples. She looked down at the fruit.

“What do you mean I’ve changed?” I asked, “I’m the same, I‘ve always been this way.”

She looked up and smiled.

“I don’t know,” she started, “I guess you have gone from a seed to an Apple tree with in one year.”
