Chapter 8

At around 7:45 we left to go for an hour ride to get there.

About 15 miles in the car I asked the final question.

“Why and what is this about and don’t you dare tell me I will find out soon!” I said beyond stressed and worried that I wouldn’t see my family again.

“Well, I’m sorry but that is the only thing we’re aloud it tell you, so deal with it.” She said just as stressed.

Addie let her guard down and I could see the stress that was on Liz’s face copied onto Addie’s face as she drove.

“Don’t worry, dear, everything will be fine. But only if you let it be fine.” Addie tried to cover her voice again.

I thought about that, trying to understand.

“Is something wrong? Did someone get hurt?” I asked seriously.

“No, not yet.” Liz said trading a look with her mother.

“What do you mean not yet?!” I asked seriously alarmed.

Liz sat in the front so she bent over to tell or whisper in Addie’s ear.

“That sounds good to me?” she said stressed out,

She pulled out the iPod and set it in the car stereo and hit play. Then a beautiful piano piece began to play and I understood if was to help make me calm so I gave in and set my head on the head rest and closed my eyes listening to the piano’s song.

After an hour and half drive I we arrived to a city of lights and people, I woke up under a bright street light to find Liz and Addie to be getting out of the car. Liz opened the car door and stepped out into the dark night with honking and talking and cars zooming by, with lights and then I realized we weren’t in Malibu California any more.

“Where the heck am I?!” I asked scared out of my mind.

“You are in Los Angeles!” Liz laughed with Addie smiling.

“Okay? Why are we here?” I asked still confused.

“Well, we are going to a teen club just like I said earlier.” She answered excited and getting her sexy face on.

I smiled,

“Oh, okay… where is it?” I asked tensely.

“Down the street, follow me.” Addie ordered with a smile.

“Alright…” I followed along.

I drag feet down the street starring at all the wonderful and beautiful lights. I wanted to go faster but I was still really tired, and I want to take off the dang stilettos.

“Come on Katie. Don’t forget, Garrett is waiting for us inside to show up. More or less, only you.” She tempted me with her words…

That sparked a cord. I walked at a faster than normal pace and then it was Addie and Liz trying to keep up with me. I heard Addie sigh and Liz giggle but they both keep walking. I could only think of seeing his face. And that was all that went through my mind.

“Do you really, think she will come, Andrew?? I mean, I am like in love with her and she is gorgeous beyond human nature.” I droned on and on.

“Garrett, shut up! Lizzie Lu said she will come so shut your dang mouth for once!” Andrew complained in a irritated voice.

“Don’t ever call my sister, Lizzie Lu in front of me ever again, you sick love bug!” I threw a piece of bread at him and he dodged it and laughed at me.

“How the HECK am I to tell her I am a vampire and that I love her?!” I asked worried… no I’m losing my mind!

“Shut up, you get her drunk or get her drunk or her drinking and it will help cushion the blow.” He said still irritated.

“Yea, we’ll isn’t that abusing or like insulting to a person?” I questioned his thinking.

“Sorta but not completely… because we aren’t or you aren’t sleeping or going to give her drugs or even beat her up. Are you?” he said in a steady, low voice.

“No, I am not that stupid, stupid! I’m not going to have her drink. In fact she doesn’t drink at all, just go away Andrew you are so rude.” I slapped him on the back of his head.

We were in line waiting to get our tickets and it was becoming very boring to wait. I was becoming very impatient. I stood there as still as I could.

“Calm down Katie, breathe…Why are you so nervous?” Liz asked me close to my side linking arms with me.

“Well, I’m more anxious to find you guys have been hiding out from me…” I answered honestly,

“I am more excited to find out what it is!”

Liz gave Addie a look and Addie returned it.

“Yea, same here girl, same here.” she trailed off.

We got in and at once I noticed that it was a drinking club and very cool, calm, and fun. Like going to a party where you can be stupid. I looked around and found it was very large with a view and had a balcony that went all the way around the club. With the lights flashing baby and dark green with black and white walls and white marble tables spread about the place. I went with Liz to get a fruit drink.

”Hey you two lovely ladies! Wait will it be for you?” the bartender called.

“I’ll have a Pepsi.” Liz answered with a smile.

“I’ll have a grape N’ spirit mixing’ midnight.” I said doing the same as Liz but with a flirtiest voice I could muster.

“Oh, really a midnight, that’s a strong one.” He said taking a double take over my body, “you must be underage...”

He then looked at Liz, “Are you sure you don’t want something pretty unlike your beautiful friend here?” he gave me a look again his eyes trailing up and down my body again.

I smiled at him then said, “No I think she’s not ready yet,” With a wink in my eye.

We walked over to the high, stole seats around a 4 seated table. We then sat down next to each other.

Liz gasped and had a huge smile on her face.

“ANDREW!” she screamed and stood and then ran toward a wall.

“Liz wait!” I trailed off only thinking about how to go through this alone.

“Hey,” I heard a glorious voice behind me, I turned slowly.

“Hey,” I said kindly, “will, you tell me what this secret is about?!”

He all of the sudden looked scared, nervous and awkward.

“Um… well, we don’t need to worry about that right now, okay!? I’ll tell you later…” he grinned embarrassed.

He sat down next to me and ordered the same thing I got. While we sat there and drank our liquids we talked of interests and things of what we like and disliked.

“What is you favorite thing to do?” he asked.

“Well, I love to,” Run, run, run! I answered mentally, “go to party’s and swimming and do new things, or I like to run.”

I said telling the truth even tough he didn’t understand the concept of the whole truth, I wanted to scream. I want so badly to yell out the whole truth, I wanted so badly to have him want me the way I wanted him. I wanted to burn alive for the guilt of not telling him in the first place even though I wasn’t able to anyway.
