Chapter 12

I woke up to the sound of CNN news. I didn’t open my eyes but i felt my surroundings. I felt with my hands, suddenly I felt someone else. I opened my eyes; I was looking at the TV. I turned my head to see Garrett was underneath me with his hand on the small of my back and his other hand on the back of my head. I had both of my hands on his chest. I smiled and pushed my self up from his chest and was on my knees.

He sat up with me. Still looking at me.

“So what time is it?” I asked him.

“It is almost 4:30 pm” he answered me.

“Hmm… well then what are we doing?” I asked excited.

“What do you mean?” he asked with a confused smile on his face.

I smiled and bit my lip. I jumped up and ran with human speed to my room, on the way locking Liz’s door, with him on my tail, I swung into full speed into his room. He turned just as I did. I ran straight to the deck that raps around the house and went to Liz’s room and went through the double doors and shut them then locked it. Garrett looked at me as though he had lost.

What kind of game is this?!” he asked frustrated with his hands over his head.

I started to laugh pointing at him. I started to dance my victory dance, still laughing. He put his hands on the glass and said in a loud voice,

“Can you let me in, please?” he looked at me

“I don’t know what you are talking about… come on in!” I laughed even harder.

“oh come on! Please just let me in.” he asked in a frustrated voice.

“I will if you say the magic word…” I said in a sweet voice and kept dancing around.

“Ugh…” and he banged on the window. “Open up, Kate. This isn’t fair.”

I stopped in front of the door and looked at him.

“It is absolutely fair. We were racing, I beat you, I win.” I smiled

He frowned.

“You are just a sore loser.” I made the fact come out.

“Well then, if I am a sore loser,” he smiled, “then you are a bragging winner.”

I laughed, “Yes, thanks for pointing me out.” I smiled even bigger, “I am still not going to let you in.”

He frowned with his eyes.

“Fine I’m leaving.” He smiled waved and disappeared.

I stood there then carefully opened the glass door and peaked out, he was nowhere in sight. I heard him chuckle. I flashed around to see him, lying on top of the bed looking threw a magazine.

“How did you?” I started.

But he interrupted.

“Everyone in this house has a set of keys to each room.”

He held up a set of keys.

I wanted those keys. I walked over to the bed and sat down with my legs criss cross. He sat up and smiled. I glared at him. Then I had an idea. I grinned.

“What…are you…smiling at?” he asked curious and scared of what was going on inside my brain.

I sat closer and smiled. I leaned in and quickly gave him a hug. I saw him look confused but willing. He hugged me back, I looked up at him and went in to kiss him. Again, he went along with it but I could feel his face in his confused position, scrunch even more. It was too easy. Way to easy! He had to see it coming.

I felt my hand slide down his chest and down his arm, then his lower arm, I could tell his hand was open. So I played with his fingers, drawing patterns in the soft skin on his hand. He dropped the keys on the bed covers. I carefully let him explore up my arm and around my waist. He rolled over so that I was beneath him being pushed into the bed. I gingerly picked up the keys and put them all into my back pocket.

Then he rolled over so that I was on top of him. He was facing the window. He sighed, holding me tight against him! I laid my head on his chest and sighed.

“What was that about?” he asked with curiosity burning in his voice.

I laughed wondering what to tell him.

“I got what I wanted…”

I could tell he was looking down at me but I continued to gaze at the hot red and orange sun over the waters edge.

“Well? Are you going to explain?” he asked hoping with all his might, in his voice.

“No I’m not. I just want to stay here and never move.” I tightened my arms around him.

“I would be perfectly happy with that, but…” he questioned.

I looked at him.

“This is Liz room.” He answered with a smile.

I laughed and he tightened his arms around me and laughed along. He sat up and got off the bed. I sat up with him but remand sitting on the bed. He was looking at the huge selection of music on Liz wall. He picked a CD and put it in the player. Suddenly a beautiful song I new so well, maybe better than I knew myself.

“Kenny G. My heart will go on.” I said as a matter-of-fact.

He smiled and held open his hands as an offer. I smiled and shook my head. He pointed at me then at the floor in front of him. He had an evil look to him. I laughed and shook my head again. He ran toward me before I could run. He had his arms around my waist, pulling me to the middle of the floor. I smiled and put my head on his chest. He took my hand and started to dance. I went along with it…
