Chapter 14
When I woke up, we were both outside on the beach with a big quilt under us and a little blanket covering us. I didn’t open my eyes but I felt around with my other senses. I was curled in his arms with his arm under my neck supporting my head. I continued to find his breathing in my ear and the morning sun on my face and shoulders. It felt nice and warm, even comfortable.
I followed my nerves down farther and noticed that I wasn’t alone with Garrett. So I opened my eyes suddenly there was Jake next to me laughing. His face closer enough I could smell him.
I jerked and screamed, jumping off the blanket and onto my feet in the sand. He continued to lay there with his hands behind his head. His face covered in a huge grin.
“Morning!” he said laughing.
“What, what?! What’s wrong?” Garrett sat up fast and disoriented.
I glared at my brother.
“That’s the problem.” I said in a flat voice.
Jake smiled and waved at Garrett.
“Ugh…” Garrett rolled over and took the long pillow we both rolled off of and shoved his face into it.
I went to the other side of Garrett and lay down next to him. Putting my face into the pillow, Garrett swung his arm around me and said, “Go away, Jake. I need to sleep.”
Jake laughed and said,
“I understand, all queens need their beauty sleep. I always knew!”
I threw sand and a rock at him as he trotted away, hitting him in the head.
“Hey!” he yelled back, “Why did you do that?!”
“I don’t know what your talking about.” I mumbled back.
Garrett laughed half a sleep. I didn’t notice that Jake was running towards us until he scooped me up in the air and tossed me into the sand.
“Ah! That’s not fair!” as I sat up I laughed, I saw Garrett’s arm around Jake where I was laying. I laughed quietly to myself again.
I went behind Jake and quietly told Garrett to open his eyes.
He smiled and opened his eyes, and screamed like a little girl.
“What the freak!” Jake rolled over laughing hard enough to make him cry. I fell over laughing too.
Garrett jumped up and ran inside yelling,
“I need to boil my arm!”
Jake couldn’t breathe he was laughing so hard. I ran in after Garrett and found him taking off his shirt and walking into his bathroom. I couldn’t breathe right. All of those muscles that I didn’t know existed…
“What?” Garrett said, introbeaming my ogle.
“Wow, I am the luckiest person alive…” I said but taking my eyes off of his chest.
He came over to me and laughed.
“No, I’m the lucky one.” He said raping his arms around me. He leaned toward me to kiss me. I kissed him back but he took me by surprise and picked me up a little lifting me off the ground. Suddenly I was the cream of an Oreo, between the wall and Garrett.
“We need to go downstairs and eat breakfast.” I mumbled around his kiss.
He groaned and continued to kiss me. I didn’t to move but I did. I slid out from under his arms and stepped to the side quickly. I quickly ran to my new closet before looking at his expression. I changed into a T-shirt and shorts with a black bikini and bright yellow flip-flops.
