Chapter 6

“Hi Jake, what’s up” I asked Jake as he came out the back door were I had my feet dipped in the pool.

“Not much really… did Garrett find out? Or do you at least want to tell him?” Jake asked me honestly curious.

“Hell yes I want to!” I exploded, “ I really like him and I don’t know if he likes me but its hard to keep the stupid secret…” I trailed off calmer.

“Well, I think he likes you and he seemed very eager to take care of you while mom and dad and I were gone… I thought it was funny how his face light up when I asked him…” he laughed at the memory.

It was quiet as we stared at each other thinking of a way around the situation.

“Well, you have to know that if you too fall into deep then you will or might have to tell him.” He warned me with a look.

“Yes, I know. I just am having a hard time deciding how to tell him about me being a…” I trailed off.

“You’ll find away. You always do.” He encouraged me to do the right thing.

We both went inside and went straight to the kitchen.

“Hey Ria,” I said, “can you make some strawberry smoothies for us with some chunks of strawberry’s in them?”

“Sure, I’ll get started on that right away.” She answered.

We keep walking till we were on the patio out side in the back again. Then we keep walking till we are next to the pool ledge. We sat down on the edge of the pool in the warm water. I leaned against him and as I put my head on his shoulder, he put his arm around me, trying to comfort me.

“So what do you want to do about this situation?” he asked.

“Well, I want this stupid situation to disappear all together. But that won’t happen so I guess I want to tell him but I’m afraid it will hurt him. And anyways I have to find out first if he likes me.” I answered in a stressed voice.

He shrugged his head yes, agreeing with me and he got out his feet from the pool and helped me up.

“Let’s get to bed I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s over here at the crack of dawn.” As we grabbed our smoothies, laughing at how true the comment was.

“Alright, let’s go.” I said tired and thirsty for the smoothie.

I walked up stairs and went to change my clothes got changed into spaghetti, strapped shirt and plaid, boxers. Then I went outside to water my hanging plants out on my balcony. I saw Liz on Garrett’s balcony with her brother. She was just sitting on the other chair reading. I started to water the plants and Garrett looked up.

“Hey, what are you doing?”

“Oh, hi. I’m just watering the plants.” I answered looking at the plants.

“Cool.” He answered.

“What are you reading?” I asked Liz.

“Shake spear,” Garrett answered for her still looking at me.

“He has read it like 5 times,” Liz laughed.

I laughed right along with her.

“Well, see you guys later.” I waved goodbye for the night.

“Bye!” they both said and waved.

I went inside and layed down on my bed pulled over my covers and then turned off the lights.
