Sara's POV
To say i was shocked to see Ashar standing there in auntie's house would be an understatement.I was surprised, shocked, confused but most of all scared.Scared that something went wrong. He looked at me sheepishly and smiled a little."Assalamualaikum Ashar, what a pleasant surprise!",i said forcing a smile. It was awkard meeting him like this.
"Waalekumassalam Sara, how are you?",he asked genuinely looking concerned.
"fine,i guess. What are you doing here anyways?"
"I came to visit my aunt, she lives here in London.I think i told you about her",he replied.
I relaxed immediately, thank God there was no bad news atleast or else that would have been the first thing he would have said.I smiled warmly at him remembering the last few days before i came here.
"Yes you did tell me but i think you have the wrong address",i said pointing towards auntie."You see that's Papa's(Dad's) friends wife and my aunt as well".Auntie smiled at me and asked me who he was.
"Auntie meet Ashar, our neighbour and my childhood friend".
"What are you doing here anyways especially at this time of the day?",i asked again.
"Came to see you,silly".
"But it's quiet late".I said while checking the time,it was 7:30 in the evening.
"I wanted to get over the worst first",he said while pointing his fore finger at me.I smacked him on his arm, angry at him.Just then Ally came forward and introduced herself to him. They greeted each other and Ally invited him to the living room. She sat on my right while Ashar sat on my left, careful to maintain a good distance.
"So,how's everybody at home?"
"Everybody's fine,Alhamdulillah".
For some reason i could not believe what he said.I looked at him cautiously,he looked worried.
"What are you worried about?",i asked even though i knew he would lie.He never speaks the truth if he thinks it would hurt the other person and that's why i always had to drag it out of him.
"Nothing, anyways before i forget, mom send this gift for you and told me to tell you that she is missing you".
I smiled relieved that nothing has changed, everything was still the same. They still loved and cared for me like before."There is no...",i was cut across by Ally's over excited squeal.I looked at her with a questioning look, she smiled at me and pointed towards the bag that Ashar was carrying.
I rolled my eyes at her, meanwhile Ashar shoved around ten boxes each of different shape and sizes,in my hands.
I looked at him with wide eyes."I thought you said that auntie had sent me a gift not a gift shop".
He chuckled lightly "That small gift is from my Grandparents, the ones in blue packets are from G.G,as for that yellow one it's from Azhaan and the purple one is from mom,and dad asked me to give you this",he took out a packet from his pocket and handed it to me,"and everybody asked me to give their blessings to you".
Oh no,oh no,no,no no no .. no this could not be happening.
Ally interrupted my thoughts and i somehow managed to hold my tears back."Care to elaborate who all these people are? and why are they sending you gifts?",Ally questioned me with her eyebrows raised.
"G.G is Ashar's Great grandma and Azhaan happens to be his younger brother and as for your other question i am quite confused myself",i answered her.
