Sara's POV
I woke up to the sounds of someone yelling. Turning my head to see who it was, I realised that I was not in my own room. I quickly got up and was about to get out of that room when the events started playing in my head. Reality hit me, and man was it harsh. I instantly started panicking. OH SHIT! OH SHIT!
I was literally jumping around in that room, when a wave of common sense washed over which calmed my jumping nerves, and put my confused brain at rest. I smiled at the fresh thought in my mind and with new found confidence I went outside. As soon as I stepped out of that room, I realised that I was still at the banquet hall, and going by all the noise of shouting and yelling that was coming from somewhere near, I knew so was everyone else. I peeked inside and sensing the tension, I turned on my heels towards the exit. I was about to reach when Hamza bhai called out to me, I turned and saw him waving to me with a huge grin on his face. I smiled at him and went towards him.
"So you found her?”I asked even though I already knew the answer, his happy expressions said it all.
"Of course I did, and yes we got married all thanks to you”, he said happily.
"Congratulations bhai", before I could proceed he whispered to me.
"You can do that later on, right now granny wants to see you”. Confused as to what could be the matter, I simply nodded and followed him back to the main hall. As soon as we entered all heads turned towards us, but ignoring the stares I started looking for granny. She was sitting on a chair which was pulled in the centre of the grand hall with all of her kids, grand kids and great-grand kids standing around. The kids looked sleepy and so their mothers took them away, throwing secret smiles when they passed by me which I returned with a blank expression.
Once they left, I went straight up to grandma, “You wished to see me, grandma?" I asked. I called her grandma because she asked me to; when I first met her yesterday. She was a little plum with an average height of about 5’3; her facial features were sharp giving me a small hint as to what she must have been like in her young age, beautiful without a doubt. I had talked to her only once so I didn't really know, whether she was humble or strict. I guess I’ll find out soon enough.
"Come here”, she motioned me to come closer, and I did as asked. Out of nowhere a chair was pulled up behind me, and she motioned for me to sit, and I complied again.
"Now, while you were unconscious, I was being filled in with what happened”, she took a pause then continued “what you did for us is out of the ordinary, it was indeed too much to ask for but as they say time cannot be reversed, I hereby take you to be my grand-daughter-in-law and I hope you'll oblige by our family rules, mix and blend in it as soon as possible”. I gave her a blank look, then realising that I was supposed to say something I said the first thing that came to my mind, “I don't understand".
"What is it that you don't understand?", she asked politely.
"Why do you think me to be your grand-daughter-in-law? I mean am not married to your grandson then how can I be?",I asked rather stated in a matter-of-fact tone.
"What do you mean girl? You got married to Danial, don’t you remember?"
"No, I didn’t. I agreed to the Qazi's question because they were thinking me to be the bride besides I could not risk your family’s reputation by saying no, now could I? Also, we didn't even sign with our own names nor am I off age yet", I stated feeling disappointed with my life.
"That does not matter...", I cut her across.
"Sorry to interrupt but the truth is, it might not matter to you but it does to me, it's about my life for god's sake", I said throwing my hands up in the air.
