Chapter 1
"Draven, if you want to go live on campus that's fine."
Daymen and his oldest son were sitting in his office, having the same conversation that they have had at least a dozen other times.
"You keep saying that dad, but I really don't know. I am next in line to be the Alpha, shouldn't I be here with my pack? What if something happens and I'm not here?" Draven told his dad again.
The Alpha exhaled loudly, "Son, I keep telling you that you are the future Alpha, not the current one. I will be here if something happens. So will your grandfather and great-grandfather. We will be fine. You are only going to be forty-five minutes away. You received a full ride scholarship, which included housing, take it."
"But I'm still in Alpha training. How am I going to do that if I don't live here?" Draven was still trying to convince his dad that it wasn't a good idea, while at the same time hoping that his dad would convince him that it was.
"You have had more than enough training over the last few years, you are beyond ready to take my place when the time comes. I was two years older than you when I found out that I was to be the next Alpha." Daymen reminded him. "How about this? Tomorrow is orientation why don't we go, look around, you can see your dorm room, and we can go from there? I'm not kicking you out son, I just want you to be able to experience everything that is offered to you."
Draven nodded his head. "That would be great dad. Thanks." He stood up to leave the office.
"Anytime." Before he walked out he heard his dad add, "And remember College is full of a lot of girls."
Draven turned back to smile at his mentor, "Why do you think I'm having such a hard time deciding what to do?"
Daymen returned the smile and nodded knowingly. Of course they had given all four of their kids the talk. Maybe Ansleigh more than the boys, but they all knew. But the reality was, Draven was a twenty year old male. And if that wasn't bad enough he was also part wolf, and all Alpha. Going to a university was like cutting some-one's hand and pushing them into shark filled water, and Draven was the sharks.
Before Draven walked away he heard his dad yell through the closed door, "Don't tell your mother!"
" Hey wait up!" Devlin yelled before hopping in the car with his parents and oldest brother.
"Dev, why are coming again?" Draven asked with a smirk.
Devlin eyed his mom sitting in the front seat, "I uh, I'm hopefully going to be going there in a few years.I figured I should go look around now."
"Of course you should Dev. Way to look out for your future." Draven winked at his little brother.
The family walked into the office of Florida State and everyone fell silent looking at the three overly large males that had just walked in. Of course that just made their chests puff out more. Jazmyne rolled her eyes and headed for the desk.
"My son Draven Roth is starting in the fall. Can we have his papers please?" Jazmyne asked the woman behind the counter. She handed the Luna the papers from her folder, then gave an almost silent sigh of relief as the family turned to leave. All four wolves pretended not to hear it.
As they walked into the apartment building where Draven's home was supposed to be he heard laughter coming from the porch. As he looked up his eyes locked onto the most beautiful pair of brown eyes that he had ever seen.
He forced himself to breath before he spoke to his family, "I'm moving!"
