Chapter 9
"Cousin?!" Eryn asked
"Yes, cousin." Draven answered. Still staring at Ryan. It was taking everything that he had not to knock the smirk off of his face right there.
"Apparently my cousin and I need to have a little chat." He told Eryn, as he grabbed Ryan by the arm and headed into the building.
"I'll be right back babe." Ryan called to Eryn. "Ow! You're going to break my damn arm dude, let go!" He yelled at his future Alpha.
As soon as they were inside the apartment with the door shut, Draven turned on his cousin. "I'm only going to tell you one time, and one time only, Break up with Eryn."
Ryan smirked at him and folded his arms across his chest, "No." Was the only thing he replied with.
"Ryan she is my other half. You need to break up with her, now." He decided to try to reason with him. After all he didn't know that she was his mate.
"I know." Ryan said.
"Excuse me?"
"I know that she is the one who will complete you. That's the only reason that I am with her." He looked too smug for Draven's liking and his shaking got worse.
"There is no way you could have known." He took a step closer, and his cousin took one back.
"When you guys got back from orientation Devlin told me that he thought you had found your mate. Then one day we came to town for something, and we seen her. He pointed her out and when he wasn't paying attention, I got her number. We've been dating for about two months now. And she's been bound to me for six weeks."
At his last words Draven was across the room and had him picked up by his throat and slammed up against the wall. "What do you mean by bound?!" He asked through gritted teeth.
"I told her everything. About how I'm part wolf and she's my other half."
"But she's not!" He yelled, his grip getting tighter.
"She doesn't know that. Once I changed in front of her, I was able to convince her of anything. You know how gullible humans can be. She is convinced that I have completed her, and she has completed me. I had her speak the words and everything, it's done." Ryan choked as he tried to suck in oxygen.
"It doesn't work like that with a human you stupid ass! A human's soul can only be bound by their true mate. Your soul may be bound to hers, but hers isn't split, therefore she is not bound to you." Draven yelled at him again.
"It doesn't matter. She thinks that I will be the only person that will ever love her, completely and unconditionally. Let's see you run a pack without your true Luna by your side."
"What did you say?" Draven released his throat.
"I was supposed to be the next Alpha! Not you! Now, let's see how well you can run the pack without your Luna."
"What the Hell are you talking about Ryan? My dad is my grandfather's only son. I am my dad's oldest son, that rightfully makes me next in line to be the Alpha." Draven was completely confused now.
"If your father had never returned Daymian was going to ask my dad to take his place as Alpha. Which would have put me next in line. I would make a Hell of a lot better one than you too."
"Wow, that's what this is all about? You stole my other half because you are throwing a temper tantrum, because you didn't get your way?! You are to break up with her. Now!"
"It's too late Draven, it's already done." Ryan told him with a smirk.
"What's done?"
"I told her that in order to complete the bond we had to consummate it. She is mine in every sense of the word."
Before Draven had time to think he drew back his fist and punched his cousin in the nose. Her heard the bone crunch only seconds before seeing the blood.
Ryan dropped and grabbed his face. He started shaking and he had to use all of his control to keep from shifting.
"Get up and get to my truck. We're going to see my dad."
The look in Draven's eyes told Ryan that his life was in his cousin's hands right now and he knew it would best if he didn't argue.
Draven flew into his parent's driveway and slammed on the brakes. "Get out and go straight to his office." He commanded.
He didn't even knock on the door before barging into the Alpha's office.
"Yes son?" Daymen asked. His brows furrowed when he seen Ryan's bloodied face. "What the Hell is going on?"
"Ryan has taken my other half as his own." Draven spoke through his teeth.
Daymen looked back to Ryan. "If you know that she is another wolf's mate why don't you break it off with her?"
"He is taking something of mine, so I took something of his." He answered with a shrug.
"Excuse me?"
"You weren't supposed to ever come back. My father was supposed to be the next Alpha, I should be the future one." He answered nonchalantly.
Daymen growled at the younger wolf. "Have you lost your mind boy?!"
Again Ryan shrugged. "The position should have been mine. And now that it's not, I have made it to where he won't be able to run this pack properly."
"He has even told her that their souls are now bound." Draven informed his dad.
"Well they're not. Even if you guys have done the ritual of binding the souls it wouldn't work like that with a human. You are not bound to her, and she is not bound to you. You have no ties to her. You are to break it off with her and I will talk to your father about what we should do with you." Daymen spoke, using his Alpha tone. Ryan did not bow his head in submission though. Instead he looked him in the eyes and grinned.
"It's not that simple dad." Draven whispered.
"And why isn't it?"
He sucked in a deep breath to steady himself before answering his father. "The son of a bitch got her pregnant."
