Chapter 13
"Dad, were you able to get that information that I asked you about?" Draven asked as soon as he walked into the Alpha's office.
Daymen looked up from the papers that he had been going over. Grabbing an envelope he held it out to his son. "Yes, it's right here."
"Thank you sir. I really appreciate it." Draven told him.
"Just, please be careful. And make sure Devlin stays out of trouble."
"Yes sir." Draven smiled at his father before walking out.
"Are you ready?" Devlin asked as soon as he seen his brother come down the stairs.
"Yeah. Let's go. Dad already alerted the other Alphas that we would be passing through their territories, and the Alpha of the area that we are going to that we will be staying there for a little while."
"Alright, let's do this!" Devlin said excitedly.
Draven rolled his eyes. His brother was too excited about this road trip, considering why they were taking it.
Ansleigh walked into the foyer just as they were about to leave. She pulled her oldest brother into a hug.
"I love you Draven and I know that you can bring her back, completely in love with you." She whispered in his ear.
"I love you too Sister. And thank you."
She pulled away and smiled at him, rubbing her swollen belly. "That's what im here for."
"What about me?" Devlin whined.
"You better behave yourself." She said in the same tone as when she's speaking to Drexlin.
"Yes ma'am." Devlin told her smiling, pulling her into a hug.
Ansleigh watched her brothers walk out the door, with a slight hurt in her heart. She hated that Draven had to go through this just to find his happiness. And it killed her that Devlin still hadn't found his other half.
Rubbing her belly she thought about all that happened to her, to get where she was now. She may have cursed at the fates then, but she had since learned that they actually knew what they were doing.
"That was the longest sixteen hours of my life! Your road trips aren't that fun. I can't believe you wouldn't even stop to eat." Devlin complained, as they got out of the car at the motel.
"I went through a drive-through. And I'm sorry that it wasn't fun Devlin. I am on a mission to get my other half back. I'm not really in a sightseeing mood at the moment." Draven huffed, grabbing his bag from the backseat and walking off.
"You didn't even go back when they forgot my fries!" Devlin shouted after him.
"How are you going to find her anyways? "
Draven looked up from the papers that were spread out on the bed. "Dad did some research for me. I know where her parents live. I'm going to go over there tomorrow and talk to them. I have to make this right, not just between her and I. But I have to clean up Ryan's shit too."
"You really think that you can do it?" Devlin asked.
"I have to Dev. I need her."
"What about the baby?"
"We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Right now I'm going to sleep. We have another long day tomorrow. " Draven cleaned up the bed and turned the light off.
"I can't sleep right now. Can I borrow the truck please?"
"Keys are on the table, don't get lost." The older brother told him, before rolling over and pulling the blanket over his head.
"Does the Alpha know that you are on his territory?" The girl behind the counter asked as soon as Devlin walked up to it.
"Excuse me?"
"I know that you aren't one of ours, why are you here?" The girl questioned.
"I really don't think that's any of your concern." Devlin looked at the brown haired girl behind the counter. Her honey colored eyes looked at him in the eyes, as though they were searching his broken soul for a key to her own happiness.
Devlin sucked in a deep breath, feeling his soul respond to her gaze. He cleared his throat, "Um, I'm Devlin Roth."
She smiled at him warmly, "I am Tabitha Lackett. And I believe that it is my concern to know what brought my other half to me."
