Chapter 14
"Draven! Draven! Draven wake up!" Devlin shouted as soon as he opened the motel room door.
"What the Hell Devlin?! It's six in the morning! Why are you still awake?"
"I met her!" Devlin exclaimed, bouncing on the bed like he was a school girl.
Draven's eyes snapped over to him. "Met her? As in her, her?"
"Yep. And she's beautiful!" The smile on Devlin's face grew even wider.
"Congrats man. What's her name?"
"Tabitha. She is wonderful. We just spent the whole night talking, and we have decided to bind our souls before we go home. That way her parents can be there for it."
"Um, have you talked to mom and dad about this? She needs permission to transfer packs. Is she the Alpha's daughter or something? That can cause problems too. You have to think this through Devlin, you can't just jump into a decision like this."
"Damn Draven, just because your other half is denying you doesn't mean that I have to have a shit mating too. I've already thought about all of that. I sent dad a text asking him to call me as soon as they were awake. And no she isn't the Alpha's Daughter. She is the Beta's daughter, but her family already knew that there was a chance that she would be changing packs, since she still hadn't found her other half. She said that they would just be happy that she found me. Just go back to sleep grouchy ass." Devlin yelled at his brother.
"I'm sorry Dev, I just didn't want you to get your hopes up, just to have them crushed." Draven told him, genuinely sorry.
"It's cool. I'm going to sleep. We both have a long day tomorrow. " This time Devlin was the one to turn the light off and turn his back to his brother.
Draven took a deep breath as he shut the truck off in the driveway of the little brick house. He was wondering how Devlin was doing with meeting the parents. Tabitha seemed really nice when she came to pick up his brother this morning.
He climbed out and walked up to the door, his heart pounding in his chest. Some-one pulled the door open as soon as he rung the doorbell.
"Um, can I help you?" The woman asked staring up at him.
Draven cleared his throat, "Yes ma'am. I'm a friend of Eryn's. Is she home?"
The older lady looked him up and down, "I've never seen you before."
"No ma'am. I'm from Florida." He wrung his hands, knowing where this conversation was going to go from here.
"Are you the little twit that got my daughter pregnant?!" The woman asked angrily.
"What?! No ma'am. That was my cousin."
"Oh, that's not any better. You are all the same it seems. Leave and do not come back! Stay away from my daughter!" Draven flinched at her words.
He stopped the door with his foot, just before she slammed it in his face.
"With all due respect ma'am, I can't do that. Your daughter doesn't believe me, and you might not either, but I love her. She is the only woman in the world that will ever make me happy. I will not go back home until I have the chance to talk to her. She has to know how much I need her. She needs to understand that she completes me. My soul will never rest until she is in my arms. If you could just let her know that I'm in town, I'm staying at the Drake Motel, that would be great."
