                        Chapter 3

"Come on man I'm hungry. I'm done with unpacking for right now. Let's go to Five Guys and get a burger." Jesse said after about two hours of them working.

Draven looked up from the tv that he was messing with, trying to get the Xbox One set up in the living room. "Jess, the only things that we have accomplished is getting the couches moved in, the beds set up, and the Tvs and game systems hooked up in the bedrooms."

His cousin smiled at him, "We are young men, what else could we possibly need?"

Draven looked around his new apartment. It was decent sized, plenty of enough room for just the two of them. There were only four apartments in the building so that allowed for each place to be a bit more spacious than some of the other apartments that were close to campus.

They had two bedrooms, each with an attached bathroom. A living room and a decent size kitchen. He definitely couldn't up his nose at it, especially since the University was paying for it.

"Yeah I guess you're right. Let me get this set up and we can go." Draven finally answered him.

As soon as the two walked into the hamburger shop Draven tensed up. His eyes scanned the place until they stopped on the woman who had his half of his soul fluttering like crazy in his chest. She was sitting at the table with a few friends and her smile had his breath catching in his chest.

"Draven." Jesse snapped his fingers in front of his cousin's face. "Earth to Draven."

  Draven shook his head. "What?"

"Are we going to order or are we just going to stand here?"

"Yeah. Um let's get food." He tore his eyes off of his mate and followed Jesse to the counter.

After ordering their food and grabbing a few handfuls of peanuts,  they sat down at a table that was close enough to his other half where he could hear her conversation,  but far enough away that he didn't look like a creeper.

He was willing her to look his way, not understanding why she didn't give him a second glance. Her broken soul should have been drumming in her chest.

"Draven, what the Hell is wrong with you?" Jesse asked, getting his attention again.

"Nothing man. I'm just thinking about classes and everything." Draven lied quickly, as he stood up to get their food since their number had just been called.

Jesse looked at him as he sat back down. "I call bull shit."

  "What?"

" Your previous statement. I call bull shit. You're not thinking about classes." He scanned the room and looked at the table that Draven had been staring at. "It's a girl!" He yelled when the realization hit him.

"Damn, shut up!" Draven hissed at him.

"It is. Which one is it? I really don't think it's anyone at that table. I walked close to that table and none of them smelled of wolf." Jesse looked around the place.

"It's not a woman Jess. It's just- Wait, what did you just say?" Draven asked suddenly,  interrupting himself.

"I said that you are getting distracted by a female." Jesse said, shrugging his shoulders and taking a bite of his burger.

"Yeah I got that. What were saying about none of them smelling like wolf."

"Oh yeah. I thought a few of them were cute so I walked by. I lost interest right away, none of them are my type." Jesse spoke around his burger.

"That's impossible man. At least one of them has to be a femwolf." Draven started to shake.

"Nope." Was the only answer he got from his cousin.

Draven stood up and walked right behind the girl who had the other half of his soul. He breathed in deeply as he walked by.

Shaking even more he shoved his way out of the restaurant.

He walked to the truck and waited for Jesse.

"Dude, what the Hell was that about? I wasn't done eating." Jesse yelled as soon as he walked outside.

"Just get in the truck! I'm going to the County. I need to run." Draven ordered.

Jesse climbed in without another word. One look at his future Alpha told him that now would not be the best of time to question why they were headed to their childhood home that they had just left only hours before.

Draven turned on the radio and cranked it up, speeding out of the parking lot, he wasn't in the mood to talk. He was too busy trying to figure out how his fated one was a damn human.
