When I got ready in the morning I went down stairs; as per usual. Gloria had caught me and wanted to talk.

"Hey, Roe, honey. I heard that you made some friends yesterday." She said; how she gonna set me up like that?

"Yeah, I did, they're really nice." I said, grabbing an apple and wiping it with my sleeve.

"Well I'm glad that you've made friends, but you're therapist dropped by while you were at school yesterday; she said you have to keep an emotions' journal." She explained to me, giving me a black, leather book with empty pages.

"Emotions' journal?" I questioned it as I twirled the object in my hands, examining it.

"Yea, she said it should 'help cope with teenage anxieties' and 'help with your issues' or something like that."

"Oh, well uh, thank you." I said trying to leave to finish getting myself ready. Until she stopped me...

"Well, I am your mom, I'm always here for anything...to talk." I smiled at that, but is it weird I still don't fit in my family?

"Thanks Gloria, but I should get ready."

"Oh yeah, that's totally fine."

I was waiting for one of the guys to text me to come outside. But no, Mari just had to come and start picking with me.

I was in my room, sitting on my bed when she knocked on my door.

"Come in!" I hollered from my place on my bed.

"Hey, little sister." She said quietly while leaning on my door frame, playing with the hem of her skirt; looking down.

"Hi." I said slightly annoyed

"I'm sorry, I know I should've had your back. I know about your life and what's happened to you. I shouldn't have done that to you. I know you've been abandoned and lied to your whole life. Forgive me?"

I stood up with a smile, arms wide.

"Come here and give me a hug." She pushed her self from the frame, came and wrapped her arms around me, and gave me a hug.

I've waited until I was 7 to get a family who liked me. I don't think I wanna give it up right now.

Just then my phone buzzed and on the screen read a text.

Ryan: We're gonna go to the Mech-Xs before school, so hurry up.

Roe: shut up.

"What's Mech-X?" Mari asked over my shoulder. I quickly hid my phone behind my back.

"Nothing, mind your business."

"But I just wanna-"

"Okay, you're trying to look out for me, I understand."

"So will you tell me what's going on or not?"

"I have a power; I can control technology with my mind."

She started laughing hysterically." No, seriously, tell me what's wrong."

"I did, here watch." I used my power to make the lights flicker, phones ring, alarm clocks buzz. The look on her face was one of hysterics and terror. I enjoyed it.
