Mistletoe

"A Christmas party! We're having a Christmas party!"
"We need to decorate!"
"Lets all bring in our extra decorations and we'll have the brightest school!"

Everybody joined together and agreed we could make the school look festive for the holidays. It would take an entire day so we set aside the Monday before break.

Karma POV

"Karma! What did you bring?" Nagisa jumps in front of me. I smile at his presence and pull the box out of my bag.

"I got string lights. You?"

"I have ornaments. I heard we were going to have a tree!" He bounces.

"Sweet!"

"I brought mistletoe." A familiar perverted voice giggles from behind us. This draws some attention, a few boys joining in to place the plants over their crushes desks.

"That won't end well." Nagisa sighs. He helps me untangle the bulbs and wires until the tree shows up, only a few minutes later.

"I'm going to see if I can get the octopus to help set these up outside." He nods in approval and I walk out.

"You sure you don't want to hang some mistletoe?" The yellow monster pokes my shoulder as I exit the building. He recently figured out my crush on Nagisa and has been using it against me ever since.

"Shut it. Just hang the stupid lights." I throw him the loop and he gets to work, finding the end before racing around the roof. I take the time to walk inside. Once I'm back in the room Nagisa waves me over to the tree.

"Please! I want to hang the highest one." He whispers, bouncing lightly.

"Fine." I roll my eyes and lift him by the hips, allowing him to sit on my shoulder.

"Hey, no fair!" Rio jumps, trying to put hers higher. I look up to see Nagisa giggling and sticking his tongue out. I shrug him off and he yelps as I steady his fall.

"Thanks." He whispers, crinkling his nose in excitement.

"No problem, Nagi." I mess with his hair before returning to my seat.

A small bell goes off, signaling the end of our day. I walk to Nagisa's desk to help him pack.

"You still excited about that ornament?"

"Very." He smiles. I move in a little closer, just so our arms brush. He doesn't seem to notice so I stay that close, throwing empty decoration boxes into a bag.

"Nuehuhuhu Karma~" I whip around, green knife at the ready, but the monsters already gone.

"Hey Nagisa! You guys seem to be under some mistletoe!" Nakamura falls over in a fit of laughter. I check and sure enough someone hung some over his desk. There is a small pause as I try to search his eyes, which quickly found the floor more interesting.

"Are we gonna..." He doesn't finish his sentence.

"It's tradition, right? Who cares." I lean a little. He doesn't move so I get a little closer. I hold his chin lightly, lining up our lips.

"You're taking too long." He breaths out quietly, trying to move himself closer. I take it as invitation and gently close the gap between us. It only lasted a couple of seconds but it wasn't as if we pulled away at our own will.

"That's not appropriate for school, Nagisa." Kayano whispers as she pushes past us. You know what? Fuck you too.

"W-well then..." He continues packing his things.

"Right." I grab the rest of his stuff and start walking. He follows closely, still eyeing the ground. It isn't until we get to the base of the hill does he start talking.

"Are we going to talk about that?"

"Do you want to?"

"Kind of." We stop walking.

"Look. I really didn't mind it."

"Well I didn't mind either."

"Maybe I liked it a little bit."

"Maybe I did too."

"Well maybe I'm gonna ask you out."

"Well maybe I'm gonna say yes." He walks off. I run after him.

"Well are we dating now?"

"I suppose we are. Oh! In case I don't see you over break." He rummages through a bag. "Happy birthday." He smiles and hands me a little box with blue wrapping paper. He remembered? Everyone forgets my birthday.

"Thank you." I pull him into a hug. After a second of hesitation, he hugs back.

A/n Aaaaaand I'm late... wanna hear an excuse? No? Well ok then... umm Happy holidays?? I might not post for a week or so because of the family ish and what not. IM NOT DEAD AND IM NOT ABANDONING THIS STORY!
