Rebecca's POV
-
After getting back to the apartment, we all sit down on Sam's bed and just talk.
"When did you two first meet?" Colby asks.
"Wasn't it in kindergarten?" Sam asks looking at me and I nod.
"Yeah it was the first day," I respond, smiling at the vague memory of meeting my best friend for the first time. "Yeah, we just approached each other and I don't know, we just became friends."
"Man, that was so long ago," Sam says and I nod.
"Honestly, I don't know how we didn't kill each other when we were little, you were a little prick," I say.
"Oh god," he laughs.
"Yeah, you wouldn't share anything like ever, and you were bossy as hell too man," I say. "Nah, but you always were a good listener, which I really needed when I was a kid."
"Yeah, I know. I remember when you would sneak out of you house and climb through my window in the middle of the night and we would just lay up there and talk for hours," he says.
"Honestly, I have no idea how I didn't get caught doing that, like I did that forever, man I would've gotten in so much trouble for that," I say and he nods sadly. "Yeah, I know what you mean."
"How long has it been since you talked to your dad?" He asks and my head snaps up at him.
"He is not my dad," I say with my jaw clenched.
"Rebecca, I'm sorry, I didn't mean-"
"It's fine," I say cutting him off. Awkward silence fills the room and I realize what I just did.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have snapped at you like that," I say quietly looking down at my hands in my lap.
"No, don't apologize, I shouldn't have said it like that I'm sorry," he responds and I sigh as I run my hands through my hair. "It's okay, I know you didn't mean to say it, it's just a touchy subject, you know that better than anyone," I say and he nods.
I look over at Colby, I can tell he has a million questions running through his head but he keeps them to himself, and I'm thankful. I will open up to him one day, but I don't feel like talking about him right now.
The conversation starts to pick back up and we keep talking for a really long time. After about an hour, we go out into the living room and plop down on the couch.
"What movie do you guys wanna watch?" Sam asks as he looks through Netflix.
"What about-" Sam starts but Colby cuts him off. "Mean Girls."
"What?" Sam questions and we both stare at him.
"Yes." I say sternly. "Okay then," he shrugs.

After watching the movie, I start getting a little tired. "Guys, I think I'm gonna go to bed," I say and they nod.
"Yeah, I'm pretty tired too," Sam agrees.
"Same here," Colby says as he yawns. "Goodnight you guys," he says as he walks to his bedroom.
"Goodnight," Sam and I say at the same time.
"Goodnight Sam," I say and he pulls me into a hug.
"Goodnight Rebecca," he says softly and lets me go.
I walk into the bathroom and throw my hair up into a messy bun. I then brush my teeth and wash my face before going into the bedroom and throwing on an old band tee and some sweat pants and lay down and fall asleep not long after.
