A month later
Rebecca's POV
-
Things have been going really well for the past month. I've met a few of Sam and Colby's friends; Brennen, Corey, Elton, Tayler, and the legendary Big Nik. They're all pretty awesome guys to be around and they all seem to be really nice and absolutely hilarious.
Today is my birthday and I'm actually really excited for the first time in a really long time. I haven't really celebrated my birthday at all in years but tonight, Colby has promised to take me somewhere really nice for dinner tonight. As of right now, Sam and I are at the mall. I drug him here because I need to find a dress for tonight and I didn't want to go alone, plus I love spending time with my Sammy.
"Ugh, how many more dresses are you going to try on," Sam groans from behind the door in the fitting room and I roll my eyes.
"Shut up Sam, it's my birthday and I can try on as many dresses as I please," I retaliate and he huffs, not saying anything else in response. I look over the few dresses that I have hanging up in the dressing room with me. First, I try on a simple black, sleeveless dress that comes a few inches above my knees. It fits tightly down to the waist and then flows out and it's really pretty. I like it a lot, but I'm not sure.
I then try on a really pretty off the shoulder burgundy dress that reaches just about my knees. It's such a pretty dress, I love it, but I'm still going to try in the rest just to be sure. I proceed to slip on a white one, then a light pink one before I get to the last dress. To be honest, I'm not sure why I chose to try this on. Its halter top, navy dress. It nearly reaches the ground and the back is pretty low cut. I'm usually not drawn to things like this but for some reason, it caught my attention.
I slide it up my body, slipping my arms through and putting my hair to one side as I zip it up. Wow. The dress is fairly tight fitting, not too much as it's a pretty silky-ish material but it hugs my curves perfectly. Just, wow. I honestly didn't know I could look this good in a dress. I fix my hair and look over myself in the mirror once again before opening the door and stepping out. Sam sits in front of me on a small bench on his phone, not noticing my presence. I clear my throat and he slowly turns his attention from his phone to me. Once he finally looks up at me his eyes widen a little bit and he puts his phone down.
"Wow," he states and I smile.
"I really like this one, what do you think?" I ask him and he nods.
"You look amazing," he says and I look at myself in the mirror and run my hands over the dress. Damn right.
No, I'm just kidding, I'm not that conceited but man, this dress looks really good on me.
"Okay, I'm getting this one," I announce and he starts to get up from the bench.
"Yes, does that mean we can leave now?" He questions excitedly and I put my hands on my hips.
"Not just yet, I need to find some shoes first," I tell him and he groans and throws his head back in frustration and ends up banging it on the wall behind him, making a loud thud.
"Ow, shit," he winces and I laugh at him loudly.
"Serves you right for being so pushy," I snort and he glares at me.
"Whatever," he retorts and rolls his eyes as I walk back into the dressing room. I unzip the dress, putting it back on the hanger and pulling my clothes back on. I grab all of the dresses, putting them all on the small rack in the dressing room except for the navy one. Sam follows me over to the cash register as I pay for my dress.
