A/N: Here is just a little flashback from Colby's past and a look into the life of 'the man' that captured Colby. Before hand, I'm going to go ahead and apologize if there are any errors, this is uneditited, it's late, and I'm tired so forgive me. Also forgive me because this one is depressing 😬

Thrid Person POV (flashback)

--

Late October 2007

It was three days before Halloween and the group had been planning the route for weeks- Brian, Lee, and Colby. The three were neighbors and had been friends since Colby was three. Now, Colby was 10, Lee was 11, and Brian was 13. They were hanging out after school at the park, discussing their costumes and all the houses that they needed to go to for the candy; the rich part of town was essential because they handed out the full sized candy bars.

"I can't believe we have to take your stupid little sister," Lee groaned and Brian shot him a dirty look.

"Shut up, its fine," he retorted and Lee just sighs, not complaining further. Since his father was working that night, or more likely out drinking, Brian was forced to let his 6 year old sister Bailey tag along and no one was exactly thrilled about it. Well, Brian didn't mind it so much. She meant the world to him. Their mother was killed only a year after Bailey was born in a car crash. After that, his father turned to alcohol and was rarely around. Their grandparents rufused to take custody of them, and Brian was too scared to tell anyone else, afraid him and his sister would be separated in foster homes. Also, despite that he was the oldest in the group, the other two boys were still mean to him. It felt like Bailey was all he had at times.

The three continued to talk about Halloween for a few minutes until Brian tells them goodbye. He hopped on his bike and pedaled to his house; Bailey would be dropped off by the bus soon, and he had to get home and cook dinner. His father wouldn't be home until God knows when. He got home a few minutes before his sister arrived. When he heard the bus drive away, he swung the door open and she greeted him with a big smile. Brian picked her up from the ground, spinning her around. She giggled and gave him a peck on the cheek.

"Did you have a good day at school?" He asked her and she nodded, her blonde ponytails bobbing up and down. "Good," he said before placing her back down onto the ground. She walked into the living room, sitting down on the couch and turning on the tv, whip Brian cooked the two of them some mac and cheese.

Around 8:30 that night, they'd finished their meal and Brian helped Bailey get ready for bed, reading her a bit from "Charlotte's Web" until she fell asleep. Man, did she love that book.

He looked down and his sleeping sister, bursting into tears. He quitely exited the room before he woke her, going into his bedroom. He laid down on his bed, sobbing into his pillow. He wished with everything in him that his sister could have a better life, but he was too selfish. He couldn't bare the thought of living without her, she was all he had. She was just a kid, what did she do to deserve this? What did he do to deserve this? What did his mother do to deserve to be killed?

Three days later (Halloween)

The four met up at Brian's house. He was a zombie, Colby was a pirate, Lee was a ninja, and Bailey was a fairy.

"Ready?" Colby beamed. They were all extremely excited, they had been waiting for tonight for months. The all walked up and down the streets, Brian holding tightly onto his sister's hand.

They had been walking for nearly two hours and it was Lee's curfew. He told them goodbye, heading in the opposite direction, going home.

A few minutes later, they walked by a girl that Brian liked, a lot, Emma.

"Hey Brian!" Emma said, flashing him a smile whilst she was dressed as a really pretty gypsy.

"H-Hey Emma," he returned nervously.

"Dude, you are sooo in love with her," Colby said, punching his shoulder.

"Shut up," Brian mutters, looking at the ground.

"Don't tell me to shut up, you are definitely in loooove with her," Colby teases and Brian drops his sister's hand, balling up his fists and shoving Colby. Angrily, Colby used all his force, pushing Brian. He falls over, knocking Bailey into the middle of the road and everything happens in slow motion.

"BAILEY NO!" He screamed at the top of his lungs. The car was too close to stop. She was gone.

He screamed for help as loud as all possible, but it was too late. His entire world had been ripped away right in front of him. The only family he had left, was gone. Forever. And there wasn't a single damn thing he could do about it. Bailey was the only thing keeping him alive, making him want to live. And Colby killed her. And he was going to pay.
