Rebecca's POV
-
Colby smiles at me once more before leaning down and planting a small, soft kiss on my lips with his finger underneath my chin. His lips linger on mine for a moment which seemed to last forever until we are interrupted by the sound of keys jingling behind the door. Our lips disconnect as we scoot away from each other a bit and the door swings open. Sam looks at us and raises one of his eyebrows and shrugs before heading into the kitchen. I raise up from the couch and follow him.
"Did I interrupt something?" He asks as he puts the food in the refrigerator.
"What, no, we were just watching tv," I respond and he continues filling the fridge.
"Uh huh. Whatever you say I guess," he states.
"Oh, did you get the ice cream?" I ask hopefully and he turns around as searches through one of the grocery bags on the counter before pulling out a tub of chocolate chip cookie dough and I smile at him.
"Your favorite," he smiles back at me and hands it to me.
"Thanks, I can't believe you still remember that," I say and he shrugs. "I got Cinnamon Toast Crunch too," he adds and I laugh lightly.
"And that's why your my best friend," I comment and he fake pouts.
"That's the only reason?" He says and I nod jokingly.
"Yeah, pretty much," I state and he puts his hand over his chest in fake hurt. We both laugh and I walk over and hug him.
"But really though, thank you Sam. For everything," I say seriously and he smiles.
"Of course, you don't have to thank me, you know," He says.
"Yes I do, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't be alive," I counter. It's true. Growing up, Sam was the only reason for me to stay alive. He was the one who helped me get through everything, always. Even after I moved; even though he was miles and miles away, he was still always there for me. And he knew that. He pulls me back in for another hug and I smile into his chest.
"Do you want me to help you put away the groceries?" I question, changing the subject.
"No, it's fine I got it," he replies.
"Let me rephrase that, I'm going to help you put away the groceries," I state and he laughs. "I mean, I'm living here now, I can at least put away the groceries."

A couple days later
It's now about 1:30 pm, and we are all seated on the couch watching Netflix.
"I'm bored," Colby states with a frown and I nod in agreement.
"What do you guys do you wanna do then?" Sam questions and we look at each other and shrug.
"We could go swimming?" Colby suggests.
"I can't, I don't have a swimsuit," I sigh.
"Well, then we could go to the mall," Sam counters and I nod my head quickly.
"Okay then," he says laughing lightly, "I'm going to go get ready," he says as he gets up from the couch.
I head into his bedroom as well. He gathers up some clothes before heading into the bathroom to shower and shuts the door behind him. After making sure he is gone, I pull off my t-shirt and shorts from the night before and slip on a new bra and new underwear. I grab a Thrasher tee and in the process of me pulling it over my head, the door opens and my cheeks flame. Colby's wide eyes connect with mine and I hastily yank it down over my body. His cheeks flare along with mine.
