Rebecca's POV
-
I wake in Colby's arms and I smile to myself. God, he is so adorable. His eyelids flutter open and he grins at me.
"Good morning beautiful," he says, his voiced laced with sleep.
"Good morning," I smile and he lightly kisses my forehead. I love the feeling of being in his arms, I don't ever want to move. Then Sam swings open the door.
"Come on love birds, it's two o'clock!" He yells and Colby groans.
"Go away," he mutters, burring his head into my arm and I laugh at him.
"Cooolllbbyyy," Sam groans loudly.
"Sam, shut the fuck up," Colby says, his voice muffled. I giggle at their exchange and Sam finally exits the room.
"Come on sleepy head, lets go," I tell him as I run my fingers through his hair.
"But I don't wanna leave this room," he states and I sigh.
"I know, me neither but we need to get up," I say and he groans dramatically before unwrapping his arms from my small body and getting up from the bed. I follow him into the living room and Sam is plopped down on the couch, eating pancakes.
"I made you guys some, they're in the kitchen," he states with his mouthful and his eyes glued to the tv.
"Okay, thanks," I tell him and he hums in response.
"Who knew Sam could cook," I laugh as I pile a few pancakes onto a plate.
"He can't," Colby mutters in confusion and his eyes dart over to the trash can.
"Ha," he states as he holds up an empty box of pre-made pancakes.
"That explains it," I say and he laughs.
After eating our late breakfast, we all sit on the couch watching some random movie on Netflix. I look at the time on my phone, 2:47, and an idea pops into my head.
"Hey, it's not too late, we could go to the beach if you guys are down?" I suggest and their eyes light up.
"Yeah! Let's go," Sam says excitedly and they both jump up from the couch.
"I gotta take a quick shower first," I state and they groan before falling back down onto the couch and I laugh at them. I walk into Sam's room to grab a bathing suit, t shirt, and some shorts. As I search through my clothes, a pair of arms wrap around my waist.
"Hello," Colby says happily as he places a small kiss on my neck.
"Hi Colby," I laugh and he nuzzles his head into my neck and I smile.
"Colby, this is nice but I have to take a shower," I state as I turn around.
"I could join you," he says as he wiggles his eyebrows and I grab a pillow off of the bed, hitting him with it.
"Shut up," I mutter as I grab my clothes and head into the bathroom, swaying my hips a little.
I start the water and let it warm up before stepping in. I quickly wash my body then shave my legs before getting out. I don't bother washing my hair, seeing as though I'll be getting it wet in a few minutes anyway.
I dry off my body and pull on a simple navy blue push-up bikini, a black shirt and some shorts before emerging from the bathroom. As I make my way into the living room, I throw my hair up into a messy bun.
"You guys ready?" I ask and the both and they hop up from the couch in their swimming trunks.
"Yeah, let's go," Colby says as we slip our shoes on. Sam carries a small adidas bag with towels and sunscreen. I put on my sunglasses and we grab our penny boards and head out the door.
We don't talk much on the short ride there. When we arrive, we put our shoes and boards in the same place as last time. The sand is hot against my bare feet, but it's bearable. We run across the beach down to the shore. We find a place and put down our towels, the guys pull off their shirts and I strip down into my bathing suit. We put sunscreen over our bodies and I let my hair fall down across my shoulders and I look over at Colby, who happens to be staring at me.
"You're so beautiful," he whispers and my cheeks flush. I look down at the ground, letting my hair fall in my face slightly. Colby tucks it behind my ear and smiles at me.
"COME ON!" Sam screeches from the water, ruining our little moment and I laugh at him. Colby grabs my hand and looks at me as if asking if I'm ready. I nod once, a big smile plastered across my face and we run down to the water hand in hand. The cool water feels good against my skin as we walk deeper and deeper into the ocean. The waves crash against my freshly shaven legs, causing them to sting a little. Note to self: don't shave legs and go to the beach the same day.
When we stop walking, the water reaches just below my chest. I start to get a little nervous, which Colby notices and he laces his fingers with mine.
"You're okay," he says reassuringly and I nod at him, smiling. The waves reach us just before they break, so they're pretty calm. We jump just as they get to us and the water takes us up and back and the feeling is awesome.
"Guys this is so much fun!" I say smiling like an idiot and they laugh and I laugh along with them.
"I'm glad you're having fun," Sam laughs, not noticing the wave coming up behind him. Colby and I jump but Sam, who is less fortunate, gets pulled under. He comes up coughing like crazy and Colby and I laugh our asses off at him. He glares at us for a moment but can't help but laugh as well. After about five minutes of jumping the waves, a rather large one starts forming in the distance.
"Oh crap," Sam states and I look over at him nervously.
"It's gonna break before it gets here," Colby says and Sam nods. It approaches us quickly.
"We're gonna have to dive into it," Sam states and we nod. As it reaches us, I plug my nose tightly and screw my eyes shut. We all dive into the center of the wave and the water rushes around me and pulls us back.
We all emerge from the water and I regrettably wipe my eyes. The salt water stings my eyes, it's manageable, but that was worth it.
"That was so freakin cool," I state and they smile at me. I can't believe I've never been swimming in the ocean before, this is so much fun and I'm so happy to be spending it with these two idiots.
***
We stay in the water for nearly two and a half hours before finally deciding to ride a wave in to the shore. I wrap a towel around my body and plop down onto the sand, Sam and Colby doing the same.
"Did you have fun?" Colby asks and I nod at him with a smile.
"Yeah, it was amazing...and exhausting," I say and they both nod their heads in agreement. The sun is starting to set over the horizon and the view is perfect. I lay my head on Colby's shoulder and he wraps an arm around my back. I look up at him and he smiles at me and gently kisses my lips. I feel so safe around him, so genuinely happy. I think I'm falling for him.
