Colby's POV

--

I sit lied down in the back of a moving vehicle, my vision blurred. Everything that surrounds me spins and I feel extremely nauseous. I try to sit up, but my body doesn't budge.  What did he give me?

I should've went with Becca.  I shouldn't have stayed there by myself. Then again, I had no idea that this would've happened. But I had heard that he was out of jail, so maybe the idea in itself was not a good choice. I didn't think he would find me, in fact I didn't even know he was still alive.

I don't understand what he still wants from me, what happened was years ago, we were just kids. It wasn't my fault but how was I supposed to make him understand that.  It was all just a mistake, a huge mistake but he doesn't get it. How was I supposed to know she would get killed?

Rebecca's POV

--

Everyone is gathered around in a circle in the middle of the floor, flooded with confusion.

"So if this guy really is the one who took him, how do we find him?  How do we find out where he took Colby? What's the motive?" Questions fire throughout the circle and everyone is trying their best to come up with the answers.

"Okay. I think that whoever this person is had some sort of reason to take him. It just does not make any sense for Colby to disappear like he did if someone didn't know exactly what they were doing.  This man has been watching us for weeks, possibly even longer, who knows.  When he saw me that day, he knew I had something to do with Colby or else he wouldn't have watched me. He had to know exactly when we left so that he knew it would be safe to get him. A thing like this wouldn't have been so planned out for someone at random, Colby was the target." I tell them, trying to wrap my mind around everything as much as possible.

"So you think that this dude is someone from Colby's past?" Eltons asks and I nod.

"It just makes sense. Well, none of this makes any sense exactly, but it just seems off. This person wanted Colby for some particular reason and I know it."

"I don't get it, why would someone want to do anything him? He's never done anything wrong.. well, anything that we know of. Sam?" Brennen states, turning it over to Sam. If Colby had ever done anything, Sam would be most likely to know. They've been so close for so long.

"No, nothing ever." He says bluntly, then his entire persona seems to flip. "Unless..."

"Unless what?" I ask frantically, what is he talking about? "Unless what, Sam?"

"Unless something happened before he moved to Kansas. Colby didn't move until the middle of sixth grade. We didn't become friends until later on in middle school.  But, whenever we would talk about the past, he never said anything ever.  We have told each other everything since day one, except for the first 12 years of his life."

Also, I know this one is really short and early, but I was quite eager to let a little insight to what might be going on. I just felt really inspired and that I needed to add something tonight so here it is. Thank you guys so much for reading ❤️
