I woke up and stretching out my arms. I looked around and my gifts from my now boyfriend Mason, were laid out in my closet. As I noticed the door was creaked open, I figured he probably did that on purpose just so those gifts he bought me yesterday would remind me of him. I smiled at the thought of us yesterday enjoying the best day of my life at the most happiest place on earth. I still remember bringing it up to Mason that I had never been to Disneyland.
"Wait tell me another thing I don't know about you." Mason asked anxiously, scooting in closer.
"Well, um...." I tried to think of another thing to tell him. He'd been asking a million questions to get to know me on 'a deeper level', his words not mine. "OH I KNOW!" I said a little too loud, getting looks from the guys sitting next to us. "I've never been to Disneyland."
"You're lying." He said getting a little serious.
"I'm actually not." I looked at my nails picking at them, feeling like a little outcast. Everyone in California has basically been to Disneyland and I'm probably the only one who has never been.
"I'm sorry you've never been there. I'm sure you'll get to go there soon."
"I hope so. But besides that what place do you want to go to that you've never been to?" I asked, wanting to change the subject so I didn't bring down such a great conversation we were having.
"Um I'd say Brazil or Jamaica. I know, you're probably thinking, two very different cultures, but I actually have family in Brazil and I want to get to study the different regions in Brazil and speak more Portuguese to make my family happy that I 'still have' Brazilian blood in me." He said while air quoting 'still have'.
He surprised me when he told me he was Brazilian. It just made him ten times hotter in my book. I studied him more as he talked that day and I started to notice the Brazilian features he had on his face. And to think, I was just wondering how lucky I'd be to have him as my boyfriend and here I am now, his girlfriend who he spoiled at Disneyland the other day.
I finally got up from my bed and walked over to my drawers to wear something more comfortable. I grabbed my pj shorts and a rolling stone t-shirt and changed into them. I washed my face and brushed my teeth and patted my face dry and slipped on my morning fuzzy slippers on as my feet were starting to get cold.
I left my phone to charge seeing as Mason never bothered to when he left it on my nightstand unplugged, leaving it to die. I grabbed Bells Chewbacca backpack and my Dad's Indiana Jones cup. Skipping my way to Bells room in case she wasn't downstairs yet, I saw her bed sheet ruffled and opened up, letting me know she was up. I made my way downstairs and heard my familiar family laughter plus an extra one. I peeked behind the wall and notice it was my big brother.
"LEO!" I yelled while running up to him and attacking him with a big hug. "I've missed you so much!" I almost started to cry at that moment. I haven't seen him in ages and I was wondering if I would ever see him again.
"Where have you been?!" I asked him.
"Well little sis, when I've got a family to take care of, visiting kind of becomes impossible." He moved to the side and showed me his family. He had two little boys and his girlfriend, or wife, was right next to them.
"Helena, I'd like you to meet your two nephews, Mathew and Cohen. And my girlfriend, Noura."
I walked up to his girlfriend and gave her a hug. I found it funny she tried to shake my hand. She was part of our family now and we don't do much hand shakes around here, unless you're my Dad who refuses to give hugs. Except to our grandma, because she will literally pull his ear and yell at him. No matter how old he is, my grandma will still punish him sometimes like a child.
