Chapter 8

Hangga't kaya pa ~

Charity POV

"So, you're a mayor's daughter. How did you get in here?" Ani niya kapagkuwan."I have friends whose families are related in politics, but they're far away from you. I mean, with your lifestyle."

I shrugged, ignoring the 'date' thingy. "H-Hindi ko alam. Siguro..

"So, naging mabuting parent naman pala sila?"

"Siyempre naman. They're just too controlling. Sana maisip nila na hindi habang buhay ay palaging ganoon coz' you know, sometimes it's best to be out of your comfort zone for you to grow up."

"Too controlling huh? But you've said it yourself..

"White lies, but the truth is.. Like kuya Henry, he always wanted to be in Military.. Pero hindi natupad 'yun coz' he got scared of dad's threat. Si Yloiza, she wanted to be in fashion industry..

"How about you?"

I smiled as I look at his beautiful face.

"Ako? I'm a big disappointment to the family, and that's because of defying them." I chuckled as I remembered everything. "Sino ba namang hindi magagalit? Kuya Henry enrolled me as a lawyer, but I end up graduating a nurse. Would you believe that? Well, that's because they're both busy with their careers."

I graduated with flying colors, pero hindi talaga sila masaya." I continued with a bitter-sweet smile pasted on my face. "Instead of celebrating, they forced me to go back in school and take a law course. I refused to. Coz' really I promised myself that after I graduate, I'll be focusing on my real goal; and that's helping less fortunate people."

"Well, I think you can do both. I mean, makatulong ka sa ibang tao at the same time mapasaya mo ang pamilya mo kung kukuha ka ng abogasya." Komento niya.

"I know, but I can't see myself being in a law field. Don't get me wrong, I really feel bad disappointing my family.. Pero never in my life that I regretted being in here. Masaya ako dito at sigurado ako doon."

"Hm. Well, at least you stand on your ground." Tumatango niyang sabi."But if I were you, since malapit naman na ang next election, why don't you help him? He continued, wiggling his brows.

"Hey!"

"Kidding. I just don't want you to feel bad." Seryoso niyang sabi."I mean, there's nothing to feel bad about. Coz' really, as long as you're not hurting your parents physically and you're helping others with all your heart, then why stop? Besides, that's what makes you happy. So, just go on! Screw the law field! I'm a lawyer, mind you. To hell with your parents, I mean pardon me for the cursing but.."He laughingly said then breathes heavily. He seriously looked straight to my eyes. "Please don't feel bad."
