She's The Only One That Gets Me (A Rilaya Story ♡)

Chapter 4.

Riley's POV.
Saturday, 12:00pm.
I'm sitting in the Bay Window thinking about how fast things can change and how life really does get more harder when you grow up. A year ago the only thing I ever worried about was what color I wanted my nails to be next and now I'm here trying to figure out my sexuality but really there's not much to think about, Maya is the only girl I've ever felt this way about and maybe it's because of how close we are but above that, she's just a great person. I know I shouldn't have gotten so upset at her because of what she told me but the fact that she liked me months ago and I didn't see it makes me even more upset because I can't imagine how she felt when I would talk to her about how much I liked Lucas meanwhile she liked me. I understand now why she didn't tell me, I was too busy babbling on and on about Lucas. Anyway, it's a really nice day today so I'm just gonna sit here and let the wind come in and listen to music.

Maya's POV.
I'm laying in bed wondering if I should go to Riley's house or not. I really miss talking to her about everything. She's probably still mad at me and I get it because I should've told her how I felt. She has no idea how much I wanted to. She has no idea how much I wanted to just tell her I liked her every time she would talk about Lucas, don't get me wrong he's a nice guy and a great friend but he was never good enough for her but I didn't tell her that and I'm glad I didn't because she found it out on her own. They're good at being just friends. Enough thinking about all that though, I'm just gonna go to her house.

I get to her house and before I jump in the Bay Window, I see her just sitting there listening to music. I go in and she looks surprised to see me.

Maya: Hey.
Riley: Hi. I didn't think I would see you until Monday.
Maya: And why's that?
Riley: Because, you're mad at me.
Maya: I could never stay mad at you and you know that
Riley: Oh is that so?
Maya: Haha yeah, I missed you Riles.
Riley: I missed you too, Peaches.
Maya: I'm not surprised
Riley: Shut up!
Maya: Hey listen I have an amazing extraordinary plan. I think we should stay in and binge watch Red Planet Diaries like old times.
Riley: I agree with that plan!

Riley's POV.
Hours go by and we are still watching Red Planet Diaries, oh how I love this show. How could a show be this great? I thought the last episode was the best one but then another one comes on and it's just as great! I love today. I look at the time at the bottom of my laptop and it's almost 8pm wow.

Riley: Maya it's almost 8pm.
Maya: I know but let's keep watching the good part is coming
Riley: Maya it's getting late, you can't walk home in the dark.
Maya: Riles I just assumed I'd spend the night like always
Riley: Oh right! That's fine.. so that means we're gonna sleep in the same bed like usual I mean that's what we always do
Maya: Oh I forgot. We don't have to if you don't want to.
Riley: No it's okay forget I even said anything.
Maya: Okay let's go get more snacks then finish watching.
Riley: Kay.

Riley's POV.
We get the snacks then we head back to my room and finish watching the show, today has been really great and I haven't thought about my feelings for Maya until now. We're probably gonna go to sleep soon and I'm really nervous to be sleeping in the same bed with Maya, I know we do it all the time but this time is different. I have feelings for her now and I don't wanna do anything stupid.

Maya: I'm tired, let's finish the rest tomorrow. You ready to go to sleep?
Riley: You sure you don't wanna watch one more? I mean it's getting really good and we still have more snacks
Maya: Riles, I'm really tired
Riley: Okay fine we can finish tomorrow

Maya and Riley get in the bed and get comfortable and there's an awkward silence.

Maya: Goodnight Riles.
Riley: Goodnight Peaches.

Riley's POV.
Okay I cannot sleep at all. I wonder if Maya is sleeping, I mean she's not snoring so I tap her and ask if she's awake, she turns over and says "I am now."

Riley: Sorry I woke you up
Maya: It's okay why aren't you sleep?
Riley: I can't fall asleep I don't know why
Maya: Are you uncomfortable?
Riley: No.
Maya: Do you want me to sleep on the floor?
Riley: Of course not.
Maya: Hey come here
Riley: What?
Maya: You have something in your hair I'll get it
Riley: Oh thanks

Maya and Riley look at each other for what seems like forever and then Riley says "Maya, what are we doing?" Maya continues to look at Riley and says "I don't know." Riley quickly looks away and says "um okay goodnight"

Maya's POV.
Great. Now I can't fall asleep. I'm gonna go get some water because there's no way I'm sleeping now.
