She's The Only One That Gets Me (A Rilaya Story ♡)

Chapter 9.

Sunday, 9:00pm.
Maya spent the night over Riley's because she didn't wanna go home yet, She knew that if she went home her mom would notice right away that she was upset because she can always tell when something's going on. Maya really wanted to tell her mom about her and Riley but after what happened with Lucas, Maya is really having second thoughts and more than before. Maya has been so happy since her and Riley have become a couple but it's also been very complicated and hard for her. She doesn't understand why it has to be such a big deal that her and Riley like each other. They promised each other that no matter what happens, they'll always be bestfriends and that's one thing that Maya never second guessed, that's one thing Maya was sure of. Maya and Riley aren't excited for school tomorrow,  they wish tomorrow would be like any other day but they know it won't be. Maya doesn't regret what she said to Lucas, in fact she was actually proud of herself and Riley was too. Maya and Riley are really hoping that Lucas has calmed down about the situation but they just have to wait for tomorrow.

Monday, 7:00am.
Riley's POV.
I'm really nervous about today but I think Lucas will come around. I'm not gonna think too much about this because if I think too much then I'm gonna think of all the bad things that could happen and I don't wanna do that. I just hope that today goes okay.

Riley and Maya are on their way to school, they aren't talking too much about Lucas, they decided to not talk about it until the time comes. Riley and Maya arrive at school and Farkle approaches them while they wait for the rest of the group to come. Riley turns around and her heart starts beating really fast and Maya noticed how anxious and nervous she was so she turned around to see what she was looking at. Lucas walks toward them and doesn't say anything.

Maya: Hey
Lucas: Hi
Riley: Hi
Lucas: Hey.
Farkle: So how was everyone's weekend?
Riley: Um..
Farkle: Ohh right..
Lucas: Riley, can I talk to you after school? You too Maya.
Riley: Okay
Maya: Sure

*Bell Rings*
History Class.

Okay Students, You should know by now that I know and see everything and I can tell when something's up. I know you think that you've got everything figured out and you're old enough to not ask your parents or any adult for advice but you're never too old to ask for help. I'm here if you need me and I hope you know you can trust me with anything!

Riley and Maya look at each other with confusion wondering how he always knows everything. They thought they were doing pretty good with keeping it a secret from their parents. Even though Mr.Matthews said they could trust him with anything, Maya and Riley still don't think they're ready to tell him yet.

The day goes on and school ends. Maya and Riley head to Topanga's to meet up with Lucas to see what he wants to talk to them about. They get there and Lucas is already waiting for them. They say hi to each other and then sit down.

Lucas: So, the reason I wanted to talk to you guys is because I wanted to apologize for what I said. I still don't understand it completely but I admit I was out of line and I'm sorry.
Riley: Thank you Lucas but what is it that you don't understand? Maybe we could help explain it to you.
Lucas: Well, a few months ago we tried being a couple and it didn't work out. Now you're with Maya? I don't understand how things changed so fast.
Riley: Lucas, we decided that we were good at being just friends. We just didn't work as a couple.
Lucas: I know but it's still.. I don't know.
Maya: If we're being honest, we didn't understand it at first too and it was confusing but we have feelings for each other and when we realized that, all the confusion just went away because all that mattered was how we felt, not so much about what we thought was wrong or different.
Lucas: That makes sense. I understand more now, I'm happy for you guys and I should've been when you first told me but once again I'm sorry I overreacted and said all those things to you.
Maya: It's okay, it takes time to really understand certain things so apology accepted.
Riley: Yeah, apology accepted.

Riley, Maya and Lucas all hug then get ready to do their homework together, Riley and Maya feel
so much better now and so does Lucas now that he really understands and apologized.
