Brief Author's Note: I'm editing this book! If you notice the chapter numbers don't seem right ignore it and keep going! I'm fixing it as the chapters are edited! (๑‵●‿●‵๑) Happy Reading! P.S. If you like my work please vote. I love feedback so let me know what you think by taking a minute and commenting!  i hate long a/n but I decided to add a lil more:  If you don't like what you are reading stop reading and go find something else! I remember reading statements like this on other people's work and never in my life did I think I'd have to add it to my own.  I appreciate you reading and love comments and votes but this is my book and my creation.  If you don't like a scene that's fine but comments that are rude or ignorant will be removed and I will block you.  And for the love of goodness this book does contain an @sshole.

Chapter One

I can't believe I got in!  Thought Kayla as she stood outside the entrance, it shined under the double moons on Jigu. This Academy is one of the most respected institutions and only the children of the most rich and powerful are accepted.

She moved back some strands of the unruly, curly chestnut hair she had courtesy of her father and started to read the plaque that was written in Ah'Tarian, "Home to the Galaxy's Most Skilled. Where We Shape Their Minds and Powers for the Benefit of All."

Pfft, skilled my ass. The students are nothing but a bunch of spoiled rich kids. They only got in because of who they are not because of what they know.

Kayla stood at the entrance to another world, one that only 'The Academy' could give her. She is one of the first to be accepted from Nah'Bye but knew she wouldn't be the last to be admitted.

Kayla was different from the typical Nah'Byian, she was a one-third Rayian. While she was a half-breed to most, Kayla felt she was lucky to have been born with some of the traits of her deceased mother. Because of her abilities, the Nah'Bye and its people would finally capture the attention of the galaxy showing that power wasn't everything.

Kayla opened the door and walked into the main office; even at this hour it was still open and staff was waiting to assist new students. As she walked into the room and looked around she grew nervous for the first time and wondered how she would be seen. She wished she stood taller than her 5 feet 5 inches, which was considered to be the lower end of a Nah'Byian woman. She had been raised on a peaceful planet that prided itself on its lack of interactions with the rest of the Alliance. The Alliance held under the supreme control of the Ah'Tarians but to be more exact under the Dragonist Clan.

Kayla stopped looking around to stare at what could only be considered a medical wonder, she had one of the most beautiful faces that she'd ever seen, straight vivid red hair with chunks of wheat colored gold, a clear cream like complexion and green eyes that shined like emeralds. She walked forward and forced a smile.

Orchid Sinclair looked up as the small chimes to the office sounded. As they continued to go off she frowned thinking about how much she hated those god awful bells that the president had installed.

She watched with a mixture of disgust, curiosity and disdain as the girl at the door stared around, not believing what she was seeing. A Nah'Byian was standing there looking around, she gazed at her not sure what to think. It was her first time seeing one in the flesh. The Nah'Bye prided themselves on not interacting with off worlders unless necessary. In the vids she saw the females usually had varying shades of brown skin tones from café au lait to dark chocolate, with varying shades of brown, black, red or chestnut colored hair, vivid brown eyes and bodies that were on the ridiculously pudgy side; even though her cousins assured her the pudge was in the right spots.
