"C'mon Sky. Hurry up!" Grayson yells over his shoulder as I push myself further on my longboard.
"I'm sorry I don't have long muscular legs like you!"
We were on our way to his beach house to meet up with Ethan who was helping Julie, his girlfriend who was visiting, unpack her stuff.
I had on my high waisted light wash denim shorts with my floral Jon Bellion "beautiful/mind" shirt that I had tucked in and my maroon Vans on. This will be my first time meeting Julie and I want to look casual but dressed to impress at the same time.
Ethan has told me so many things about her over the past month and a half. As much as it kills me when he talks about her like that, I can't let him see how much it hurts.
My feelings weren't supposed to grow for him. He already had a girlfriend. But every time he talks about the girl he loves, his eyes seem to glow brighter than any star in the sky. He'd smile and little dimples appeared as his plump lips slightly turned down at the ends. Each time I couldn't help but fall for him more and more and wish it was me that he was thinking about.
"Sky. Skylar! SKYLER!"
My thoughts were interrupted as I flew off my longboard. I looked up and saw Gray rush over towards me with a concerned look on his face.
"Are you ok? Oh God your face is all banged up. We're here. Thank God I snapped you out of it before your whole face was gone instead of only half."
I looked up and saw I had missed faceplanting on the front steps by an inch.
"Yeah, I guess. But hey, I guess you can call me Two-Face now. " I said as I got up.
Grayson had a slightly amused face as he said,"Just come inside so I can clean you up will you?"
I followed him into the house and he tells his concerned parents what happened to my face before heading towards the bathroom. I hop up onto the counter as Grayson opens the first aid kit. He stands between my legs as he starts cleaning the gavel and sand out of the open wound on my cheek and temple. As he's cleaning my face, Ethan's voice invades my senses.
"They're in the bathroom? Together? Wait, what happened?! C'mon babe I gotta check on that friend I wanted you to meet."
My eyes bug out of my head as I realize that I'm going to meet Julie looking like a DC Comics character. Grayson tries to assure me that my first impression will be fine but little does he know of the anxiety I get for first impressions.
I close my eyes and try to focus on the stinging sensation of my face rather than the terrible first impression about to happen. Suddenly, my hands shoot up gripping Grayson's broad shoulders as he puts a shit load of hydrogen peroxide on my face and a little bit gets into my eye.
"GRAYSON!" I scream putting my uninjured cheek on his shoulder, closing my eyes as I try to subdue the pain.
"AHHH!" Grayson also screams as my impulsive reaction scares him as well. I dig my nails into Grayson a bit more as to say 'imma kill you when I can see again'.
The door opens abruptly and the intruder lets out a scream spooking both Grayson and I. We both scream this time. I look up and see Ethan pointing at us and screaming. Grayson sees him in the mirror and screams more.
"WHAT ARE YOU TWO DOING?! ESPECIALLY WHEN SKY'S INJURED!" Ethan yells.
Grayson and I look at our position. Him between my legs as I grip his shoulders. The both of us screaming before. We look into each other's eyes and scream again. Grayson jumps away almost hitting his head on the towel rack. I immediately close my leg and fold my hands.
For a moment, everything is still and awkward until a girl emerges from beside Ethan and walks towards me. She tall and slender and has dark blonde hair with bright blue eyes. She's the exact opposite of my short physique and dark chocolate brown hair and eyes. Oh fuck me. This is Julie isn't it.
"You must me Skylar. Ethan's told me a lot about you. He said you were like a Third Musketeer and I believe it now that I see it. I'm Julie."
