"Amaryllis," Jack persisted, but I wasn't going to let this go without a fight.
"Iris," I countered and he seemed to be thinking about it.
"No, amaryllis," He smirked and I rolled my eyes.
"What about orchids?" I suggested and he shook his head.
"Amaryllis. There's too many different types of orchids."
"What about basic roses? Red?" I asked, not wanting amaryllis flowers at our wedding as we were planning it. "Red and green roses?"
"People will think it's christmas," He pouted and I pecked his lips quick with mine.
"The wedding is in december anyways," I pointed out and he shook his head.
"It's after christmas," He reminded me and I sighed, starting to cave. He gave me wide eyes, making me look at those beautiful blues and I groaned loudly - he always know how to get me.
"Fine, sweetheart. Amaryllis it is," I sighed. "Why did you want that one anyway?"
"It represents many things - one of those is pride. I'm proud of us, Mark. I'm so proud of us for overcoming everything and getting to this point. I love you and I love how this story ends," He smiled and went to kiss me. I smiled into it and pulled him in for a hug.
"You're the sweetest," I murmured to him and he pulled away with a smile. I sighed and rubbed his cast. "I hope the doctor's right and thinks that'll be off before the wedding."
"I think he's right," He assured me. "Should we invite Miles to the wedding?"
"Well he has been trying hard to help us since everything happened," I thought out loud and he nodded. "Sure. Write him down in the guestbook."
"Um... What about Eli?" He asked softly, as though he's been wanting to ask me for a while, but didn't have the courage to until now.
"I - uh - I suppose... Hey, do you know if he got back together with his ex? We should invite him too if so," I suggested, feeling more comfortable if Eli and his ex husband were there together.
"Last I heard they were doing great," He smiled softly. "Should we consider Eli invited?"
"Sure," I smiled, just as a skype call started coming in. "Oh, that must be Felix! Maybe we can finally open the package he sent us."
"Oh, yes! I really want to see what's in it!" Jack quickly went up to the computer and answered the call, Felix's face displaying over the screen.
"Hey, guys! Haven't opened it yet, right?" He asked straight away and Jack shook his head. "Good. Go grab it."
"I'll get it!" Jack grinned excitedly and left the room to grab it.
"What are you guys up to?" Felix asked me while Jack was gone.
"Just planning the wedding," I responded and Jack returned with a long box, laying it down. He had scissors in the other hand, ready to cut through the tape and open it. "Can we open it now, Fe?"
"Go for it," He laughed and Jack started cutting through the tape, opening the box and revealing what was inside. It was the baseball bat we used against Dark in a frame. I smiled when I saw it, picking up the frame and looking at the battered, wooden weapon.
"Holy shit, Fe! I didn't know you kept the bat! This is amazing, I love this," I gushed over it and grinned brightly.
"Consider it an early wedding present," He chuckled and Jack sighed, tugging the bat towards him, so he could get a better look at it. His eyes gazed over it, a small, sad smile tugging on the sides of his lips. It was a bittersweet gift, but I loved it nonetheless. It symbolized so many things for us.
"We should hang this up on the wall," He suggested. "Damn, I can't believe all the crazy shit we've been through."
"Yeah, it's nuts," I agreed and half hugged him by putting an arm around him. "You'll definitely be at the wedding, right, Fe?"
"For sure! Wouldn't miss it for the world," He confirmed. "I'm bringing Marzia with and the pugs. She wanted to put flower crowns on them, even though Edgar is just going to get it off and chew it up."
"Awe, Mark! We should have a little area for dogs to play during the wedding so we can have Chica there with us!" Jack giggled, probably imagining it already; he'd probably decorate an entire room dedicated to them and bake them a dog cake.
"But we're going back to the cabin right after the wedding, I thought we didn't want to have her with," I recalled and he nodded. We had changed our minds about simply staying in the hotel and decided to have the cabin redone, allowing us to go whenever we needed a break or just felt like going. We decided we'd wait to see it again until our honeymoon.
"Yeah, but I don't think it'd be the same without Chica," Jack pouted.
"How about Marzia and I take her and watch her? We'll be at the hotel around there anyway, considering you're getting married near there. We don't mind taking care of her, Marzia absolutely loves Chica and so do I," Felix suggested and Jack smiled brightly.
"That'd be awesome, Felix! Thank you so much! It's not too much trouble for you, is it? The hotel accepts pets?" I asked, wanting to plan this out as soon as possible.
"Yeah, otherwise we'd have to find someone to watch the pugs," Felix confirmed. "Well, I better get going. I have some videos to make and edit, but we'll talk later!"
"Okay! Bye, Fe," Jack and I said before he disconnected. It's bizarre how close Felix feels to us now, as though everything that's happened has brought us closer. He felt like a brother to me.
"I can't wait to be able to call you my husband," Jack giggled and went to hug me. I wrapped my arms around him and smiled.
"I can't wait to be able to tell everyone you're mine forever," I chuckled. "I love you so much, sweetheart."
"I love you too, Mark," He kissed my cheek. "Kisses?"
"Kisses."
