I grabbed Jack's hand, the one without his cast on it, and tugged him along, running, as demonic laughter echoed from behind us. I headed towards the cabin, headstrong, ready to protect Jack if needed. There's not a chance in hell I'm letting him get hurt again or losing him. We've been through too much to give up now.

The wind was chilly as we ran and Jack shivered a bit while we headed towards the cabin. I could hear loud, harsh footsteps behind us, crunching leaves. Jack gripped my hand a bit tighter, clearly terrified. I don't blame him. It was him Eli and Dark wanted in the first place, the worst they could do to me is kill me, knowing they wouldn't do that to Jack. We just have to stall until Ida gets here, we can't do this alone.

"Almost... There," I panted as I saw the soft glow of lights coming off the cabin. I'm not sure if this was a good place to go, but it was all I could think to do. We approached the cabin and I saw Chica sitting outside of the door, her tail between her legs as though she could sense danger was coming. I must not have noticed her run off, being too concerned about Jack. I opened the door and pushed Jack inside, following him afterwards and letting go of his hand. Chica wiggled inside and I slammed the door shut, locking it. "Try to block all the windows."

"Okay," Jack nodded and went to shove furniture in front of the windows as I went to the ones closer to me, trying to block them. I pushed the couch up against one of them and stood back as Jack had finished and stood next to me, hugging me tightly. "Mark, I'm scared."

"It'll be okay, sweetheart," I assured him as Dark started banging on the front door, trying to break it in. Jack trembled, I held him tighter. "It's okay, Jack, I won't let anything happen to you."

"Little pig, little pig, let me in!" Dark laughed and I rolled my eyes, trying my hardest not to fear him.

"Not by the hair of my big, fat ass!" I countered and Jack tried to stifle a giggle.

"Your ass isn't fat," He smiled and I grinned at him, kissing the top of his head.

"Then I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll fuck you both up!" He snickered and rammed Eli's body into the door again, making it break a little. I shuddered and panicked a bit, grabbing Jack's hand and yanking him with me to the bathroom. I pushed him inside and closed the door behind me, breathing hard as I heard Dark continue to try breaking down the door.

"M-Mark," He stuttered, fear crossing his face as he heard Dark finally bust the door down and enter the house, footsteps softly wandering, searching for us. I tried not to let fear grab hold of me as I took Jack's hands, feeling the rough material of his cast, and looked into his eyes.

"Sean," I whispered to get his attention and he visibly calmed down, relaxing a bit. "I know this isn't the best time, but everything important to us has never come at a good time, so I have to do this now, in case I never get to."

"What are you talking about?" He asked, then I let myself go on one knee, continuing to hold his hands and look his his baby blue eyes. "Mark..."

"Our first kiss, I had you held hostage in our room, surrounded by cops. The first time we made love, Eli had come along and hurt you. Nothing we do ends up perfect, but I have to do this. I absolutely love you, Jack. I'd do anything for you, to protect you, make sure you're okay. I know I need to do a better job at that, but it all has to start somewhere. You're my little Irishman and I'd never trade you for anything, you're all I'll ever want. If we make it out of this alive... Will you please do me the honors of being mine for the rest of our lives? Will you marry me?"

"Mark," He broke out into a grin, tears coming to his eyes. He clearly wasn't the least bit scared anymore and neither was I, seeing his reaction. He hugged me tightly and I wrapped my arms around his waist. "Of course I'll marry you."

"I guess we better make it out of here alive then," I chuckled and pulled away to kiss him. "I'm going to do something stupid."

"No, no you're not," The fear in his voice came back after I pulled away from him. He clung to the side of my arm as though his life depended on it. "You're staying right here with me."

"Jack, sweetheart, no. I'm going to do something stupid and I need you to stay in here until Ida comes, do you understand?"

"No! What are you going to do?!" He tried to keep a bit quiet, not wanting to give away our location to Dark, even though he must be close by now. "You just said we have to stay alive and then not even a minute later, you say you're going to do something stupid!"

"I know, sweetheart, I know, but you have to trust me, okay? I don't know when Ida's going to get here, Dark is just getting closer and closer to finding us. I have to distract him for a while, I have to do what I can to keep him away from you, alright? It's better than letting Dark find both of us," I explained and he frowned, grabbing the sides of my face and kissing me passionately. I kissed back as he held me in place. "What was that for?"

"In case you don't make it back," He teared up and I pouted a bit, going to hug him tightly.

"I'll be back, Jack, I promise," I kissed his cheek and gave him a small smile. "Kisses?"

"Kisses," He sighed and tried to hold onto my arm just a bit longer as I opened the door. I managed to wiggle him off of me, so I could exit the bathroom. I stepped out into the hall and saw Eli's back faced towards me.

"Let's get this show on the road."
