Chapter 17

Selena

We look into each other's eyes and just stare at each other. He rubs his thumb across my bottom lip and kisses me softly. He tucks my stray hair behind my ear and smiles at me.

"You're stunning ." he signs.

"Back at ya."

We adjust ourselves and he kisses all over my face he places me back on my own seat. We drive home and he holds my hand the whole way and he would kiss my knuckles every now and then. We make it home and we get out of the car. He pulls me to him and he grabs my ass and kisses me deeply. I pull away breathless and we have an audience. Sean is staring at us.

"Don't pay attention to him." Nyle signs as he leads me into the house. We get in the house and Gilbert and Mario are still watching movies.

"Hi." Gilbert signs. " Sel your hair looks like a rats nest. Never mind I do not even want to know why your looks like that." We laugh as Nyle and I head to my room.

"Go to bed you look tired. I am going to take a shower. Can I lie down with you tonight?"

"I'd like that." I sign. He kisses me.

"I have an appointment with Dr. Jordan tomorrow."

"Really?"

"Yeah it should be really awkward." He signs.

"It'll be ok."

He takes off his clothes and heads to the bathroom. I wait a few minutes until I know he is in the shower and I run out of my room.

"Gilbert come here!" I yell.

"What's wrong Sel?"

"Nothing do you have Nyle's mom's number?"

"No. But I have her on Skype. Why?"

"His birthday is tomorrow. I wanted to have a dinner party for him."

"That's a great idea Sel! Let me grab my laptop and we'll call her."

He comes back with his laptop and he pushes a few keys. Donna is on the screen in a few seconds.

"Hi Selena and Gilbert." She signs and we wave at her.

"Hi Donna! I wanted to know if you could help me. I wanted to throw Nyle a dinner party for his birthday."

"You are the sweetest. Of course I'll help. I will teach you to make a secret family spaghetti recipe. It's Nyle's favorite."

"Really! That sounds great! He has an appointment in the morning. Can you come over when he is gone to help me get ready?"

"Of course. I'll be there at ten to go shopping for the food."

"Ok bye." I sign as we disconnect.

"Wow Sel! She never gives out recipes. She must really like you."

" I'm excited. Invite everyone even Sean."

"Ok. I'll do that now."

I get into my bed and get under the covers. Nyle is still showering. I fall asleep quickly. I feel exhausted but in a good way.

I am startled awake by my bed shaking I sit up fast. Nyle is sitting up on my bed and he looks at my startled expression and laughs.

"Sorry it's my alarm. It shakes the bed to wake me up."

"That scared me." I laugh.

"You want to come to my appointment?"

"No that will be weird."

"It was a worth a try."

"Happy birthday!" I jump into his lap and kiss him.

"Oh are you going to give me my wish?"

"We'll see. The day is still young.

"I better get going the traffic is going to be insane."

"Is Gilbert going with you?"

"Yup. Unless the good Doc learned ASL." He signs and winks at me.

"Ok see you later. I sign as he kisses me.

As soon as he leaves I jump in the shower and get ready. By the time I finish Donna is here already. We head to the grocery store and get all the ingredients minus the raw spaghetti. Donna is going to teach me to make my own spaghetti noodles from scratch.

"Thank you Donna for teaching me." I sign.

"You treat my baby so well I should be thanking you."

"Did you not get along with Christine?"

"No. I was against him seeing her from day one. Nyle is so stubborn so he stayed."

"I've noticed how stubborn he is." I sign and laugh. "I want to decorate the house for his party. What do you think I should do?"

"He loves the color blue. So anything blue he'll love."

"What do you think I should get him?"

"He wouldn't want you to get him anything thing. If you really want to he really loves the movie Grease, The Dodgers. He really loves his sweats and shirts. He dresses up so much for modeling he cherishes the times he can just dress down and be himself.

The sauce will take hours to simmer so we decide to go shopping for the birthday boy. I find a cool vintage Dodgers Jersey and I have them put Dimarco on the back they will drop it off to the house at three. I pick up some low rise jogger sweats I don't know if I bought these for me because he looks so hot in them. I pick out a cutesy card of a girl kissing a little boy on the cheek.

We head home and finish up everything. I decorate with streamers and balloons I even find a huge Dodger balloon. Gilbert is doing a great job keeping Nyle away. Even though Nyle is sending me pictures of himself with a sad face saying he misses me.

At six a few of Nyle's friends show up. A very nice guy named Ryan and his girlfriend Vanessa. I really like Ryan he is funny and kind. The best part was that his Girlfriend is hearing! I told her of what happened with Sean and she totally understood me. She went through a similar thing expect with his parents. She told me that all relationships are hard, but if you are willing to fight for what you want it's worth it in the end. I love her instantly.

Nyle and Gilbert finally get home. When Nyle enters the house his eyes are wide in surprise when he sees all his friends and the decorations.

"You did this for me?" he signs and smiles.

"Yes." I sign as he sees his mother and he beams at her making my heart happy.

"Mom you made my favorite food too!"

"No I didn't. Sel did it with my guidance but it's all her."

"Really!" He signs and lifts me in a bear hug and kisses me crazy.

Everyone sits at the table to get ready to eat. The front door opens and Sean walks in and following close behind him is Christine.
