Chapter 42

Selena

The babies are nursing amazingly well. Noah seems to wanting eat more often than his sister. Nyle is doting on them every second which makes my heart soar with love. He has changed diapers and was even peed on by Noah which made us laugh so much. Our mothers have not left our side; they are proud grandmas. The nurse comes in to give them their first baths. Nyle is right there making sure the water is not too hot or cold. It makes us laugh.

"Baby they will be fine I promise." I sign and smile at him.

"Just making sure they will be ok. The three of you are everything to me." He signs making me teary eyes. The hormones after birth are pretty crazy too.

The nurse begins to wash the babies. Noah seem to really enjoy it but my goodness Noelia is screaming her tiny head off. Nyle rubs her tiny arm trying to calm her it seems to work she quiets down with her daddy's touch. Nyle laughs I look up to see what he is laughing at.

"She is completely bald. I couldn't tell before because they put on the baby cap right away." He signs and chuckles. "Noah as a ton of dark hair though."

"Nico was bald when he was born. Maybe she'll have red hair." Nyle's mom signs.

"Maybe, but I don't think so." Nyle signs. "Baby thank you so much they are the most beautiful babies." He walks over to me and kisses me.

The nurse places our now clean and diapered babies in a baby warmer. She lays them side by side. The most precious thing happens Noah hugs onto his sister and Nyle captures a photo. The door opens and another nurse comes in.

"Hi, I 'm Tina and I will be performing the babies hearing test," she says and signs. She is staring at Nyle like a dog would a bone.

"Hello Tina, I am Nyle and this is my fiancé Selena." He signs not looking her. His attention is on me.

"Nice to meet you both. I'll be taking the babies to another room. You're more than welcome to wait here or you can come."

"I'll come." Nyle signs making me laugh. When her back is turned he begins to sign again, "What? I don't know her babe she could kidnap them."

"Ok my love. Excuse me Tina how long will the test take?" I ask.

"Normally about an hour but since there are two it may take longer." She signs and says.

"Take a nap babe." Nyle smiles as he follows Tina who is pushing the warmer out of the room.

I try to take a nap but it's hard to sleep when the nurses come in and out. They check my vitals and check to see if I am bleeding too much. I am exhausted but I wouldn't change it for the world. The door opens, Charlie and Gilbert walk in. I am excited to have them meet the babies.

"How are you feeling cousin?" Gilbert asks.

"Pretty sore but it sure was worth it." I say.

"Where are my babies?" Charlie asks.

"They went for their hearing tests."

"Where is Nyle?" Gilbert asks.

"He went too. He won't let them out of his sight for a second."

"Aww that is so cute!" Charlie says.

"Hey Sel, what will you do when the babies cry at home? How will Nyle know that they are crying?"

"We have a baby monitor that is deaf friendly. It picks on any noise and movement they make. If they make any noise or movement it will send a signal to Nyle's Apple watch causing it to vibrate. At night he will have a device that goes into his pillow and he will feel a vibration only he can feel."
