Chapter Six

Secret #6: Bah, I hate waiting for things to happen!  Slow times always make me feel all antsy and uncomfortable.  Oh and what am I suppose to even wear to meet these two princes?

 --

Weeks later, the day of the princes’ arrival slowly and finally came.  The nerves of many of the members of the agency were very high, including Monique’s.  She had been running up and down trying to get everything ready.  Every single time when she thought that things were finally done, another thing would pop out of place.  What added on to the stress was Jasper, who she had been avoiding like the plague.  Monique didn’t want to face the guy who had unexpectedly kissed her and then left her feeling strange.  She had no feelings whatsoever for Jasper Helmholtz, but she couldn’t say the same for him.

On the arrival day, the young woman climbed out of bed with a groan.  Finally it was the day, but what was she going to wear?  She really had ought have planed it out yesterday, but she didn’t have the time to.  Walking over to her large closet, she peered in and sighed.  “DADDDDDDD!” She yelled out of her bedroom.

Wayne, who was making breakfast heard his daughter’s call and came hurrying towards her room.  “What is it sweetie?” He quickly asked, scanning Monique’s room for any kind of danger.  He saw nothing expect for his daughter standing in her closet looking distressed.

“What am I suppose to wear today?” Monique mumbled as she pawed through the clothes hanging.  The man winced slightly when a hanger flew out of the closet and hit the opposite wall with a light thud.

A tiny smile then spread on Wayne’s face as he chuckled.  “Sweetie, didn’t we talk about this already?  Just wear something neat and casual.  It doesn’t have to be extravagant.”

Monique pouted slightly, “But dad, we are meeting princes, princes, dad!  No, I actually have to look nice, or they might think we are well… you know.” She waved her hands around helplessly.

Wayne sighed and held his hands up in surrender.  “All right sweetie, wear what you think will work then.”

The young woman groaned and face palmed herself.  “God dad, we are now back to square one.  You are soooo not helping.”

Her dad smiled sheepishly at his daughter.  “Sorry sweetie, I just I’m not that great with fashion.”

“Yeah, I can tell.” Monique murmured cheekily earning her a slight smack on the behind.

“Cheeky thing.” Wayne teased, “Well Fashion Guru, call Taylor then, if you have trouble, but hurry up and get dressed.  We have to arrive on time.  We don’t want them to think we are well… you know.”

Monique stuck her tongue out at her dad, when she realized that he had used her words on her.  “Roger that.” She added with a salute.  Chuckling again, Wayne left his daughter to fend for herself and finish dressing.

When her dad left, Monique let out another sigh and turned back to glare at her closet.  She glanced at the phone on her desk before shaking her head.  She was determined to get dressed by herself, without Taylor’s help.
