Chapter Ten

“Wow, you live in a nice place.  I like it.” Rion commented with a smile, “I also like the front garden.  Very Japanese like, with the waterfall and everything.”

Monique raised an eyebrow at the boy’s words and said, “Are you being polite or are you for real?  I mean come on; you’re the prince here.  I bet you live in a grander, far better place than this.”  She searched Rion’s face for any sort of clues into whether he was actually serious or not.

Percy shook his head, “No really, I like it too.  I feel that Grecian décor also gives your place a wonderful touch to it.  I would know for I’m kind of majoring in art history as well as global politics.”  After he said that, he shot Monique a smug smile, enjoying the surprised look that came across her face.

“Surprised?” Rion asked amused.  If she were, then it would be entertaining to tell her that he was studying social psychology as well as global politics.  Evidently their father wanted them to be well rounded.

“Thoroughly.” Monique replied clearly impressed, “Here I was thinking that I might have to put up with two brainless brats.  Thank god.”   Roger stifled a snicker as he hid a smile when he saw a frown flickered on twins’ faces.

“You’ve got to be joking right?” Percy said after a bit.

Roger shook his head, “No, you should have seen Monique’s reaction when she was told that she was assigned to this job.”

Raw!” Monique hissed softly, trying to stop her best friends words, as she glared pointedly at him.  Her eyes warning him not to say another word or she might do something brash to him.

Ignoring the girl, Roger however continued, “Yeah, she was giving herself a heart attack worrying about you two being too… ouch.” He was cut off when Monique stepped hard on his toes.  He closed his mouth with a slight grimace on his face.

“Too ouch?” The twins chorused together in confusion.

“It’s nothing… anyways,” Monique sighed as she turned back to the twins, “I apologies completely for my previous behavior.  I was very uncalled for.  But yes I admit that I was worried.”

Still sitting in the limo, the four occupants stared at each other before Rion broke the silence as he said slightly, “I guess it justified our worries too.  We were worried that we might have to live with a complaining girl who wanted nothing to do with us.”

Monique bit her lips, trying to stifle a giggle, but it escaped her forcefully.  Why she found that comment funny, she hadn’t had a clue.  She ended up wiping tears away as she finally controlled her laughs.  Blinking at the three boys that were staring at her, she blushed slightly and said simply, “Well I guess we are now even then.”

Flinging open the door, she sighed in annoyance when she saw that the driver had her wheel chair ready for her.  “Really, still?” She pouted slightly, glaring accusingly at the offending object.  “I’m fine, really.”

Roger gave her a small push, sending her forward.  “Missy, just sit and stop being stubborn.  It’s for your own good, you know.  Oh and you are also blocking our way.”  He added with a bright smile as the girl scowled at him from behind her shoulder.

“There is no need for you to get out, Roger” Monique said crossly, “Taylor said that Tony is waiting here for me.  Isn’t that right, Tony-kins?” She sang while tipping her head towards the other black limo that was waiting.  Roger frowned slightly in irritation.  He had wanted to spend the rest of the day with her, like they used to do whenever either of them got hurt.
