Both of us entered the warm office, with a deadened secretary manning the front desk. She was drowning in paperwork, her eyes the only thing alive about her; frantic and overwhelmed.

"Hey, Jacklyn," I grinned, causing her to look up at me in surprise. Her frown deepened momentarily as she stopped typing hastily into her computer.

"Nara," she pursed her lips, "I haven't seen you much in here anymore."

"Well I'm back now," I assured her, falling back into one of the seats in the corner of the room haphazardly. She glanced at Rhys, who was previously behind me, scribbling something on her notepad with distaste. Letting out a deep sigh, she walked towards the principal's office, knocking on the door.

"Your 1:30 is here," she informed him sharply, before heading back to her desk slowly. The door slowly opened, revealing our principal, looking more irritated than usual.

"Nara," he sighed, gesturing for me to come into his office. His eyes flickered to Rhys for a moment, who was currently sitting in the corner awkwardly, but he made no effort to invite him in as well.

As I entered the familiar room, my gaze shifted to the person sitting in the middle of it, and I realized why.

"Leon," I breathed, my brazen steps halting with shock.
